Introduction: In contemporary times, United s of America stands as the announced super power, while China is fast encroaching upon as an economic power in times ahead. On any given day of analysis, the two nations would stand out as the two most powerful states with regard to defense, economy, diplomatic influences and other global patterns.
The modern times are characterized by the epoch in modern history where President Barack Obama declared the Asian region as center of attention, investment and defense consideration after a long watch over, over Europe. This in other words, is a change of approach and policy towards China. This comes in the background of China’s ever expanding role and influence in the regional politics, increasing economic reach to the other industries and China’s ambitions towards nuclear technology possession in its latest phase of development and progress.
The overall state of affairs in the context of mutual bilateral relationship may be seen as facilitators of global peace in one context, and rivals aiming to outsmart other in the economic context of the competition. In response to U.S.A’s pivot shift towards Asia, Chinese leadership has aimed at reaching out to the smaller markets of Asia in bid to neutralize or minimize the role and possible influence of United States in these markets.
The events like China’s Air Defense Identification Zone( A.D.I.Z) has warned United States of America further and has put it on guard with regard to China’s ambitions and this has put United States of America in to a cautious position with regard to the future policies of China towards the region and more importantly United States of America.
The relationship between these two countries is vital towards global relation and peace activities. The fact that China is situated in Asia and Asia is center of attention from global perspective with regard to economy and peace in present era, therefore a mutually agreed and bilateral relationship scheme is highly important.
The relationship between the two super powers must also be gauged and assessment from the view of Japanese factor. Given the fact that Japan is an important strategic and business partner of United States of America, the situation has been a little complex in the context of China- Japan relationship. The two have had a mixed relationship history in the previous decades.
In the context of the East Asian politics and global affairs scenario, U.S.A has its role cut out with regard to ensuring global peace. Given the fact that North Korea has over the decades taken upon its policy of military expansion and nuclear ambitions, it is therefore high priority for U.S.A as the global super power to ensure peace prevailing in the region. The Korean Peninsula must be freed from the nuclear material. At the same time, with South Korea emerging as one of the most promising economies in modern times, United States of America must cash in on this, and foster an environment of further progress that is aimed at regional progress and overall global business expansion.
The facts that United States of America stands as the largest economy of the world, with China right after, and China taking a lead in the population column, and United States of America catching up first being at third, this makes up for an interesting situation of dependence upon one another.
Given the fact that it has made inroads into the electronics industry, it has made its dependency over other states nearly unavoidable, therefore it cannot be ignored. It thereby makes China the largest business partner of United States of America.
Although the two nations have had bitter experiences and little ambivalence towards one another, yet progress has been seen in recent times. The fact that United States of America took a long time recognizing China as a sovereign state speaks of the overall relationship and feelings towards one another. Other major hiccups have been seen in the case of Taiwan episode. All these factors prevented smooth running and smooth diplomatic relationships from functioning.
Rather than the conventional warfare, the major areas of focus are the cyber space domination, nuclear technology advancement and the usage of the technology towards the surveillance purposes makes up an integral part of the overall approach towards one another.
Mutual strategic restraint is the order of the day in bid to ensure smooth running of ties between the two giants of modern times. This would entail trust building measures, slashing on the nuclear stockpile that is being produced and stocked.
From a global peace context and prosperity within, the two nations need to work on the lines of mutual cooperation. The two need to facilitate other minnows of the region into expanding the economic circle.
The two must also use the Veto card in consonance. It is the core responsibility of these two super powers to ensure global peace. It is therefore imperative to ensure global peace through their efforts.
Apart from the bilateral relationship, these two super powers bear direct responsibility of contributing towards global peace. The constantly pending issues of Pak-India rivalry over Kashmir and the most recent event and account of Syrian Civil War demands active action and activity from these super powers with regard to the global peace and regional prosperity. The two nations must stand together against the global threat of terrorism and must bring an end to the most challenging issue of the 21st century. President Barrack Obama must also aim at neutralizing the Japan- China cold relationship policy. This would auger well towards the bilateral relationship and economic pursuits of the three nations collectively.
In order to minimize the Chinese influence and factor in Asian markets, President Barrack Obama must strengthen its reach to the Asian markets. It must grow its dependencies upon these smaller markets. It must reduce the labor rates, at the same time maintaining a balanced working relationship with China. The two cannot take upon a hostile policy towards one another ,rather they must follow a mutually viable and global peace and prosperity oriented policy of bilateral relationship(Zoellick).
