Revision Instructions: 1. Paraphrase of copy-pasted paragraphs. 2. more words added to some sections C,D,E. (equal distribution of words on questions asked) Hello, the paper is good but the only thing is that when I checked the references I found some paragraphs in the paper looking as they are in the websites. Tthat will be a problem because I am handing in a soft copy and a plagiarism check will be carried out on it. Also there is too much writing for the design section approx. 2000 words. at the same time there is a very little words written about the difficult parts which talk about the efficiency, scaling up and possible weaknesses (C,D,E). An equilibrium in the devotion of words will be appreciated as well as a copy-past free paragraphs. ------------------------------------------- NOVEL PARTICLES FOR USE IN ELECTROPHORETIC DISPLAYS A. Introduction The improvement of the science of electronic displays – be it used in mobile phone screens, in retail and transportation signage, and screens of electronic book (e-book) devices – has been steadily resulting following the attempts by IT companies and technologists to improve the limitations of liquid crystal displays (LCD). To date, LCD technology is delimited by problems with the long-term image quality of display. Already for a number of years, technologists are intensely researching about a conceived alternative, which is the electrophoretic displays that have the attributes of good brightness and contrast, wide viewing angles, state bistability, and low power consumption in comparison to LCD (E-Ink Corporation 2000). Electrophoretic displays are a type of low-power thin display considered prime example of electronic paper or e-paper (Anissimov 2008), currently being used by Amazon Kindle, Sony Reader, the iLiad, the Cybook Gen3, and the Readius device from Polymer Vision. A convenient aspect of electrophoretic displays is that they can be manufactured using the same manufacturing process currently used to mass produce LCD screens. Currently, the display industry has the near-term goal of creating e-paper that is thin, flexible and easily visible even under glare. The long-term vision of the industry is to use e-paper to replace books and magazines (Anissimov 2008). In this paper, we are going to track down on a number of possible designs for particulates capable of providing a color e-book that have already been published and/or patented. As we get hold of this body of information, we shall then proceed to do an assessment over our data on the basis of (1) the appropriateness of the design, (2) the efficiency of the described synthetic routes, (3) whether the synthesis is capable of scaling up for commercial manufacture, and (4) the possible weaknesses in the described particles and their synthesis. B. The Design It is deemed very helpful to look at the evolution of electrophoretic display design, so as we will be put in a better context of appreciating the appropriateness of its current design. In the early 1970’s, the principles of electrophoresis, or the motion of a charged particle through a liquid medium due to an applied electric field, started to be incorporated in the designs of display technology. Then, the general composition of the displays included a suspension of charged particles (i.e., containing or consisting of pigments) usually on the order of several microns in diameter in a dyed insulating fluid. The dyed fluid had to have a resistivity greater than 1012 ohm cm and relatively low viscosity (η Read More
