Adaptation Response Climate change is a threatening aspect all across the globe. It will continue to change in the coming centuries at unprecedented rates in the recent human history. Therefore, adaptation to climate change is an emerging subject in the modern world (Lo 2012). Adaptation simply refers to the steps put in place to reduce vulnerability and building resilience. This implies that adaptation is the management of the risks posed by climate change with respect to the mitigation decisions revolving around the environment, economy and the future generations (IPCC 2014).

This is because vulnerability results from loss of resilience in a system, but resilience is about the level of capability of the people which is limited to their capability scope. On the other hand, there are various principles laid down to efficiently enhance adaptation. They include:Adaptation follows various aspects. Adaptation looks at the necessary steps to protect the future generations by reducing the present climate variability. This is important because it looks at all the ways of improving the quality of human life such as health, education, social status and amenities and economic empowerment.

Moreover, adaptation strategies involve the mode of governance that is involving the people in decision making so that decisions have a positive impact to communities by creating awareness and practices to increase the effectiveness of adaptation (IPCC 2014).On the contrary, apart from the principles of adaptation, there should be ways set forward to effectively help in effective adoption of adaptation. There should be implementation of performance indicators to weigh the value of processes, inputs, outputs and impacts for development projects.

It is vital because it provides an assessment tool of monitoring progress towards achieving climate adaptation strategies. Moreover, it should work in hand with a logframe which means a logical framework approach which helps in the clarity of objectives and also because it helps in identification of the best measures to implement to foresee successful adaptation programs (Lo 2012).Furthermore, impact evaluation strategies are as significant as adaptation strategies. This is because they provide a platform for the identification of the positivity or negativity of the adaptation measures on a global scale.

They also provide a way for cost evaluations that are vital for the success of implementation of adaptation. Lastly, rapid appraisal methods do impact adaptation by because they are fast and provide for cheaper methods to collect information, data and views from all the stakeholders and decision makers who foresee the implementation of adaptation strategies (Lo 2012).In conclusion, adaptation principles are important in managing climate change. However, more strategies such as impact evaluation, effective implementation of adaptation, logframe and the rapid appraisal should be implemented to foresee that adaptation is effectively put into place.

These strategies would be very important because they would ensure that adaptation is efficient, effective and with positive results in taming climate change.Works CitedIPCC.
