Summary
V=x/t=x/√(2y/g) = x√(g/2y) = 2.631√(9.8/2x0.847) = 6.328m/s The muzzle velocity calculated by equation 9 is almost half that calculated by equation 6. This is due to the errors during the experiment. In this experiment, obtained values were not the exact theoretical values…

The experiment needs to be done at least twice to confirm the recorded values and minimize the errors. The stop watch and all the apparatus used for the experiment needs to be observed before the beggining of the experiment to ascertain their efficiency. The experiment could also be done in an area with vacuum conditions in order to minimize the interferences in obtaining the readings due to air resistance. The two values for V obtain in part 1 and part 2 are not as close as they are expected. This is so due to the errors during the experiment. Without errors, the two values of velocity should be the same. Reanalyzation of the tale values using the largest h fails to make any significant change in the final results of v (Susan 10). The fact is that the two values fail to be as close as they are expected to be. However repeating the entire experiment while avoiding the experimental errors may give out values that are close to the theoretical ...Download file to see next pagesRead More

Conservation of momentum. (lab report)
...Lab Report: Conservation of momentum The study’s intention entailed to ascertain and proof principles of linear conservation of momentum. Key apparatus used in this experiment included ballistic pendulum and plastic ball besides others that were essential in measuring as well as computing study’s obtained quantities. Introduction section relayed the purpose of the experiment and varied equations essential in calculating essential quantities that supposed to aid in determining conservation of momentum. These equations were essential in procedural section where after computing the necessary results and relayed in tables as indicated in the...

...the initiatives of individuals, who found it appropriate to advance the philosophy of environmental protection and management, through writing and painting. However, these advocacy policies were soon to gain momentum, and by 1898, the first environmental school was established in America, though through the initiative of a German national, Dr. Schenck, and the same was replicated in different regions of the country (Koninga, et al, n.p.). These kinds of schools were used to develop and advance conservation skills, while also generating the framework for a legal basis of advancing environmental and natural resources conservation. It is through the initiative of such schools that the first...

...Conservation of Angular Momentum and Energy Physics 161 ___________________ Partner(s ____________________ Part I A. Show a sample calculation of the initial and final angular momenta using equation 3. For your error propagation, consider the first experiment with two disks and assume uncertainties of 5%, 3% and 4% on the mass, angular velocity, and radius, respectively. Estimate the uncertainty on Ii and Li. Discuss the conservation of angular momentum in this experiment. Is Lf consistent with Li? Within how many sigmas? Initial mass of disk = 0.12Kg Mass of ring = 0.4663 Kg Total mass = (0.12+0.4663)Kg = 0.5863Kg After uncertainty Mass of disk = (95/100) * 0.12 =...

Conservation of Momentum Lab
...Conservation of momentum Conclusion Results of the first section of experiment one show an inverse relationship between mass and velo as average velocity reduces as more masses are added to the plunger cart and this indicates proportionality constant. The same effect of mass on velocity is evident after collision as additional masses reduces velocity. Velocity is however higher when mass is added to the non-plunger cart than when mass is added to the plunger cart, contrary to expectation of similar velocity when equal masses are involved. The velocity of the plunger cart is directly proportional to mass while that of non-plunger cart is inversely proportional mass for explosion. This shows a shift of momentum to the plunger cat... with...

...is that with increasing population there is a demand for increased agriculture activities. So bamboo forests are being cleared. Roads are being built in the area which is isolating the panda population and is proving to be a major hindrance to their mating activities. Current conservation work Giant panda is considered as a national treasure in the country of China. The Giant panda is included in the list of threatened species in China (Telegraph, 2010). The Panda are listed under category 1 which offers maximum protection to a wild animal in China under the Chinese wildlife protection law of 1988. In the year 1989 the Chinese ministry of forestry along with WWF made a draft of the road map for national...

...Great Barrier Reef Conservation School Affiliation: Australia is -arguably- one of the most beautiful countries in the world, and a tourist destination as evidenced by the number of foreign guests who flock each year. Worth noting is that a majority of them are interested in experiencing this beauty which, to some extent, is catalysed by the nature. An important fact to note about Australia is that its Great Barrier Reef accounts for 10% of all reefs across the universe. Actually, it is one of the main reasons foreign tourists and locals alike flock the location in a bid to witness its magnificence. A great number of vulnerable and some of the most endangered species use this as their habit. Consequently, the government...

...Conservation Conservation As the new Head of Conservation in Canada, charged with the man conserving our natural heritage, myfocus will be to save naked mole rat, harp seal and Lamotte’s round leaf bat. Harp seal Harp seal belongs to the family Phocidae. The scientific name is Pagophilus groenlandicus. There is close relations of harp seals to other types of seals, and sea lion. They have various local names including selhund (sea dog) in Norwegian, loup-marin (sea-wolf) in French and others (Perrin, Würsig & Thewissen, 2009). Harp seals are semi-aquatic animal marine mammals that spend most of their time in sea. The animal is sociable and lives peacefully with other...

Keeping Momentum
... School: Topic: KEEPING MOMENTUM Lecturer: Why momentum fizzle out so soon The ideal wish of any HR professional will be to sustain the momentum that comes with the change process. As change is an inevitable part of the organization, it is expected that as often as possible, the employees will see change. However when change becomes very frequent, apathy can set within the employees, causing their momentum to support the change process to the end to fizzle out soon (Denton, 1996). The two factors outline below contributes to momentum that dies out so soon in the organization. Centering change around few people In a typical organization, how well a person or an employee feels to be part of a change process determines who involving... such a...

BERNOULLIS EQUATION AND CONSERVATION OF MASS, ENERGY AND MOMENTUM
...BERNOULIS EQUATION AND CONSERVATION OF MASS, ENERGY AND MOMENTUM by + Date Experiment One Aim The main objective of the experiment was to get familiar with various application of Bernoulli’s equation. Additionally, the experiment was aimed at determining the accuracy of momentum equations by looking at the fluid mechanics of the water jet effect on a target. The group comprised of three members which carried out an experiment on the water float via the venture nozzle in a diameter pipe. The group was also carried out an experiment that involved forcing on the target from the impinging water jet. Apparatus A list of apparatus used in experiment one include: 1. Tapered venture nozzle 2....

Energy Conservation
...Lab: Energy Conservation The primary aim of this work was to investigate whether or not the energy is conserved in three simple mechanical systems namely, the swinging pendulum and the oscillating mass on a spring and basketball shot using the LoggerPro software. The experimental data attained in performing this experiment is as shown in the figure below. Figure 1 shows the table of results Data Analysis In this lab investigation of whether the energy is conserved for different systems was performed. Three mechanical systems were used together with computer LoggerPro software Mechanical systems used were, a swinging pendulum, oscillating mass on a spring and a pre-recorded video clip of...
