Friedman is a columnist for the New York Times and an author of series of other books (Friedman, 2008). He brings a new look on the crises pertaining the destabilization of the climate and change in the competition of energy. He strongly opposes the activities that promote global warming. His argument regards those with the future of the Americas global future at heart. He proposes that the ambitious national energy strategy (Geo-Greenism) is not only a solution to the global warming but also a method to produce a much healthier, prosperous, secure, productive and innovative America. In this book, he argues how the use of clean energy can be a remedy to the problems experienced in the world today. The effect of this in the economy is outsourcing of the American economy where people are working from all the parts of the world making the Americans earn less (Friedman, 2008). Secondly, there is a population increase causing America to be crowded. Besides, as people achieve the middle-class status, they demand more and more material that needs more resources to produce that threatens the national security. Finally, there is the problem of the world becoming hot. This is because of the overuse of energy; however, the issue has turned to be global. To solve this, Friedman suggests the green energy field as the next big thing to advance the global economies. Renewable energy as one of the green energy and other energy technologies will decrease the need for energy will rise tremendously (Friedman, 2008). In his opinion, any country demonstrating leadership in the production and development of the green energy will be the strongest country in the world. The need for renewable energy technology, and for technologies that will reduce the need for energy, will increase substantially (Friedman, 2008). In this, he hopes United States will develop this and thus become the vital leader in the world economy. Therefore, the actions of the United States matters as an affected state and should strive to look for the adoption of the green energy. America as a leader in the industrialization and waste producer should retain a role in encouraging others to follow the suit (Friedman, 2008). The other economies should identify the serious problems that are within their reach to prevent the resulting serious problems (Friedman, 2008). Even if fried man views it to be late, he points out the management of this serious issue. He calls for the mind of the US to sit and come up with ideas oriented to solving these questions (Friedman, 2008). Climate change is a reality, and no country can put off the changes. This makes it the responsibility of the entire world to implement the universal precautions to eliminate the climate change. Finally, Friedman goes ahead to discuss the solutions to the said problems. He names it dangerous the act of business going green and people looking for better ways to save the environment as these are insufficient. He recalls that if people continue with this they will achieve a status of global weirding, which is worse than the status of global warming (Friedman, 2008).
