Number] Use of Pleasure Introduction Pleasure is which is experienced by anyone who is feelinghappy, who is in a good mood or we could say pleasure is a state in which individuals ignore the conflicts of the surroundings. Various factors are a part of pleasure such as many people are in this state when they are enjoying something it could be anything, it could be an activity which they are enjoying, it could be the food that they are trying out, which might be tasty and through other such events people get this personal experience of enjoyment and then we say that they are using pleasure. It is due to the use of pleasure that individuals enjoy themselves and sometimes every bit of life (Mulvey 439). The concepts of pleasure can have a strong influence over the personality of individuals. Such as those people who love every bit and every moment of this life , their personality is different, while those who do not enjoy life or we could say that those people who are a bit introvert and shy their personality is totally different. The use of pleasure can be achieved through different ways. Many people smoke or drink and enjoy life and they believe or claim that they are enjoying life and are in a state of pleasure. On the other hand there are people who have attached different meanings and values to other activities and then through those activities they achieve enjoyment or we could say that they are using pleasure directly or indirectly. Different means for achieving the State of Pleasure There are different ways and means through which the state of pleasure can be achieved. It depends upon person to person and their likings for different activities and hobbies through which they achieve the state of pleasure. Some of the factors through which the choices of enjoyment are made are the following. Through Adventure Many people achieve the state of pleasure through adventure. Basically these people are those who are extrovert ,who love going out, who are consider interaction much important and they also go out and try to explore the world .However , we must keep in mind that such people also are different and it depends upon person to person. For example it also depends upon the nations and different countries. In United States of America the local or native people might like to go out and see different places this is the ways through which they achieve the state of pleasure or through this way they use pleasure. On the other hand for example people in Russia might love to go out and see the pure Russian sights such as the different locations of Siberia. So this shows that there are variations all over the world when it comes to likes and dislikes. Through Sexual Activities The use of pleasure is also commonly associated with the sexual activities and its usage. There are people and individuals around the world who believe that the only through which they could be in state of pleasure or through which they could use pleasure is through sexual activities. Such people are different in nature (Foucault 65). Sexual activities can be carried out with a spouse or with any other individual with whom we do not have a relationship. However, the individuals who opt for this approach are pleased and they do get pleasure, but there are some disadvantages to this approach as well (Foucault 75). For example those who are against such approach believe that there are high risks involved in this approach, such as the transference of diseases such as HIV. However, those in favour of this approach believes that there is a risk involved in it ,but if precautions are taken properly then risks are very minimal. This gives us an idea that pleasure play an important role in the lives of every individual. Movies Many people around the world also claim that pleasure can only be achieved through movies. Basically what they mean is that an individual could be in a state of pleasure or he could use pleasure when he watches a movie of his choice this gives an idea that one could use pleasure to keep himself busy and happy while watching movies at the same time (Mulvey 67). All around the world movies are made and depicts different stories which are related to different themes. Movies could be based upon science fiction; they could be based upon western, eastern or any other culture. Similarly there are movies that are based upon real stories etc as well (Mulvey 68). The fans of these movies achieve pleasure or uses pleasure to keep themselves such at their homes with friends and family members or at cinemas with friends and family members. Friends and Family interactions Many people also claim that emotional bondage plays an important role in the lives of individuals and when it comes to the use of pleasure. They believe that it is this bandage and emotional attachment that creates pleasure and then we use it for various purposes. There are some of the view that pleasure can be achieved through such means as well. An individual’s family and friends play an important role in their lives. They do not simply interact with each other but along with it they try to mould each other’s personality or they try to learn lessons from each other. This shows that no matter what happens but if a person is closely attached to his friends and family members pleasure could not only be used but it could also be achieved. Pleasure Impacts Pleasure can be used negatively as well as positively. However, it depends upon the person or individual that he or she uses pleasure. It also depends upon the motives of the individual .This gives us an idea that there are some individuals that follows different motives and then uses pleasure for a good purpose or for a bad purpose. For example there might be a person who believes that the usage of pleasure could be beneficial and used positively; such individuals believe that advantages shall be taken from pleasure and that a satisfaction level should be achieved. On the other hand there are also other people who believe that pleasure could also be used negatively. For example there might be individuals who prefer narcotics or other harmful drugs so that they are satisfied and they are pleased .Such people do achieve pleasure but along with it they change their behaviour as well. People belonging to such a cluster then do not realize that which path are they following and sometimes they simply harm the society and the surrounding factors that are present. If we concentrate on the term “Pleasure”, we might come to know that the word carries a different meaning which could be used for different objectives and purposes . For example there could be individuals who are suffering from anxiety, depression or stress. For such people the usage of pleasure could be very effective. They could use pleasure to reduce their stress level or their depression and start thinking positively about life and its other factors. Besides these pleasure could be used to achieve a balance between lives. Those people for example who are busy with their chores and other tasks and are unable to contribute time to their personal self could use pleasure and then achieve a balance between their lives and other such activities. It is then upon to the individual and the person that how he handles the different factors of pleasure and how he achieves his goals through pleasure. There might be a person who recognizes the hidden potential of the different factors of pleasure but maybe he or she is unable to utilize the time or maybe he or she is unable to allocate the different factors evenly. We have to keep in mind that pleasure may seem to be very attractive to us in every sector of the society. But we also have to keep in mind that the balancing of the factors is very important, which could in turn influence and affect us. For example if there is a student and he pleases himself by watching different movies. At the same time he watches movies but on the other hand there are factors which are threatened such as the student’s studies, his health, his mind and other such factors which are directly related to the individual. Conclusion Life is complicated for some people to lead while for others it may be a simple track that is just followed and will have an ending some day. What is good for us, we have to determine it ourselves and what is bad for us that too will have to be determined by us. Pleasure plays an important role in our lives and so does its usage. Creating a balance is our duty and for it we have to concentrate on the different factors of pleasure and determine then how to use them. Work Cited.
