Extract of sample "Theory of Darwins Dangerous"

It was not only the physical aspect of organism and environment that evolved, along with it is the evolution of culture and language, that helped shaped man. The dangerous idea of the title is Darwin's discovery that natural selection, alone and unaided, is enough to explain everything we see in the living world, ourselves included. If this is so, part of the danger is that we cannot confine Darwinism within any one science. Like a "universal acid" that can eat through anything, evolution by natural selection leaks out of biology and can't be contained, despite the efforts of many.

Dennett also challenged the various scientists such as Roger Penrose and Stephen Jay Gould who tend to limit the implications of Darwin’s dangerous ideas.
