Response on Precarious Life: The Powers of Mourning and Violence by Judith Butler One of America’s most vibrant and daring thinkers is Judith Butler. The post September 11th America provoked her thinking. She held opinions and judgments with regard to heightened aggression and fear conditions following the Twin Towers attack, and the decision by the US government to hit Iraq and Afghanistan. She critiques violence tools as a reaction to grief and loss. Butler’s argument stands on a paramount view that pictures out a world without violence.

A globe where nations and people interdependency provide a basis for a worldwide political society. According to Butler, It is imperative to shift from the first-character narrative perspective of the United States Unilateralism, and reflect upon the effect people’s living has towards others’ lives (Butler 20). Butler’s utmost concern is how one can change grief into a political resource. Ethical responsibility is her suggestion. Responsibility augments once we individuals are the main subject of others’ violence.

Her proposal order of responsibility should be that in which one figures out the varieties of global power from a perspective of the third-person rather than that of the first person (Butler 23). US attacks being the reference point, demands questioning on how these conditions came about in order to re-structure, political and social conditions on further sustainable grounds. In this case, Butler’s argument is against the censorship power and the current anti-intellectualism of the modern US patriotism during war times (Butler 29).

Lastly, she concentrates on the question of, why and when Anti-Semitism is a pinpointed charge against individuals who vocally criticize the Israel state. It is the individuals’ rights to speak out mutually against Anti-Semitism and Israel injustices, and refute quelling public debates using Anti-Semitism charges.Work cited:Butler, Judith, P.
