Extract of sample "Moral Relativism"

Some individuals perceive morality as a relative at all times whether in the individual or cultural level. This entirely depends either on the individual self or on the norms of the society. Every individual has its own free will that is why what is moral depends solely on his or her belief. However, morality in a society is conceptualized as a whole and so every part of that society considers one moral concept as good or bad but this belief may not hold true to other societies. A moral judgment is not absolute or universal “but is relative to the traditions or convictions of a group of persons” (Gowans, 2008).
