[Your full July 10, Essay The first essay talks about William Fitzhugh who is discontented with the school curriculum and the level of academic skills of the students. He asserts that school authorities just focus on the fiction and creative writing while it is more important that students are enabled to study non-fiction, research and term papers which will help them become good intellectuals when they graduate. Studies show that many students graduate every year and very few are those who are better at understanding and creating intellectual pieces of texts.
Although the papers provided by The Concord Review organization are very helpful for the teachers and the students alike, but the teachers are charged so highly that the usage of such papers becomes very less. The need of the hour is that teachers start focusing on enabling students become skilful in non-fiction and other academic material along with the regular fictional and personal writing. Essay 2 Fitzhugh believes that high school students should be taught college ready non-fictional writing such as research papers.
It is good if the teachers make groups of students and then let them discuss problems with each other if the aim is to expose them to high level academic writing. However, this is also true that it is not crucial that high school students must necessarily be taught such high level writing since many students will not have the required capability to comprehend and create research papers and other non-fictional texts. Hence, it is better to wait till they graduate and enter college.
