Given the objectives of the Davis Honors Challenge, how would your participation in the program enhance your undergraduate education and help you tomeet your personal goals?* I believe that everyone has to struggle in life so that he can achieve his goals through proper channelling and guidance. Davis Honors Challenge would provide me the opportunities through which I can excel in my life. If I am able to participate in the program I believe that I would able to polish my skills of leadership and work as a team.
Clinical nutrition is a subject which requires critical appraisal and I believe that I can achieve the skills to critically evaluate through the Honors Challenge. If I am provide with the right opportunities then I can improve my collaborating skills which can help me to communicate to the people who seek advice from me. My researching skills would improve through the challenge and I can use them in my education to know about topics which were previously unknown to me. My personal goals are at stake when it comes to achieving the right experience through the program.
The experience that I would get through the program would help me to advice people about their nutritional plan. What unique skills or characteristics would you bring to a group learning environment that would contribute to the experience of other students in the DHC program? Use specific examples.* I believe that I can help in improving the learning environment of DHC program through the different skills that I have grasped over time. I have learned some leadership skills which can help me to work as a leader in a learning environment.
I believe that I can create a friendly environment so that we can learn together in the program. It is necessary that we work as a group in the program to complete the challenges and I have the capability to work like a group and advice when necessary. I have the patience through which I can listen to my leader when working as a group. It would also help in situations where we need to be calm and handle the situation with care. I have worked on my interpersonal skills and can communicate well with my group members about the tasks that are given to us.
I have confidence which can help me to abide by the rules and complete the tasks which are assigned to us. Briefly describe two activities/experiences (at least one academic) to which you made a significant commitment of time and effort. Explain how your participation in each activity has both impacted you and prepared you to be in the DHC.* I have been involved in different activities all over my life which have helped me to grow as a person. In my academic experience I was recently involved in a trip to a forest which was one week long.
The trip was involved with a community experience and I learned to stay out door. I helped people cook and stayed in the forest for a week which helped me to examine different viewpoints about life. The activity has helped me to live outdoors and come closer to people. As we went in a group I learned to get along with different people and I believe that this skill can help me polish my collaborative skills. I have also gone to a hospital to see how doctors work and this has helped to polish my observation skills.
I learned to have a grasp on my patience by observing the doctors and their treatment plan. I believe that these skills of patience can help me to work as a team when completing the challenges as laid down in the Davis Honors Challenge.
