Secrets of the Silk Road Order No. 511869 ‘The Secrets of the Silk Road’ is a movie showcasing an array of artifacts that back to the Bronze Age and exhibited at the Penn Museum which was previously called the University of Pennsylvania Museum of Archaeology and Anthropology. Though these artifacts do not reflect a single culture, yet its anthropological connections are not only important but highly significant. These artifacts are excavated from different sites with some of them being over thousands of years.
The basin around the area of The Silk Road was multicultural where about 28 different languages existed. Different religions such as Zoroastrianism, Christianity, Buddhism and Judaism with practiced. Conquerors such as Alexander the Great and Genghis Khan visited the Silk Road in search of fame and fortune. Some of the artifacts reflect the influence of Han Chinese culture, while some of the clothing on these artifacts had images from Greek and Roman mythology. Most of the bodies found in this region have Caucasoid features, others come from cultural backgrounds that are yet to be identified.
The Secrets of the Silk Road is closely connected to anthropology as it helps contemporary man to understand their ancestors in a better light by closely examining the bodies and artifacts found in that region.
