Current issues with women and children in China ID Lecturer When it comes to women and children in China, one of the first and foremost problems is in terms of the male-female birth gap. Chinese have shown preference over children who are male than the female gender. With one child policy rampant in the country, the preference is only but natural and thus every one wants to have a male child within their families. Also women have been inducted as prostitutes in China, an act which has happened because of poor labor conditions and the like (Callaway 2000).
Within women and children rights, education and ill-health seem to be the worst hit as there are no sufficient measures to take care of the same (Wolf 1985). There are expounding issues within such realms as government has not been able to play its long term role at bringing sanity within the health and education ranks of the women and children in the country. The solutions in the wake of such problems come up when one thinks of the role of the government under such settings (Dude 2006). If the government plays its proactive role at ensuring that the women and children in China are given the best medical care and amenities, these problems can end in a quick manner.
More than anything else, there is a dire need to set things right within the Chinese dynamics so that women and children do not have to bear the brunt for the gross mishaps which are widespread as far as health domains of Chinese are concerned.
