The personal philosophy of individuals is a vital paradigm that impacts their work performance and individual perspectives on important issues. My personal value system is aligned with the wider visions and goals of nursing that emphasize understanding of cross-cultural values and building constructive relations with the clients/ patients through empowerment for making effective decisions about their health and well-being.

It uses a holistic approach that incorporates the physical, mental and spiritual wellbeing of the patients. As such, nursing leadership initiatives become important as they promote a participatory approach and collective decisions and involve other healthcare workers in the decision-making process, especially the patients. The personal philosophy of individuals is a vital paradigm that impacts their work performance and individual perspectives on important issues. Within the broader scope of nursing philosophy framework, respect for diverse value systems, promoting scholarly inquiry and constant learning, ethical delivery of healthcare, and clinical application in professional socialization are major imperatives that enhance and promote greater efficacy and ethically delivered patient outcomes.

My personal value system is therefore aligned with the wider visions and goals of nursing that emphasize understanding of cross-cultural values and building constructive relations with the clients/ patients so as to empower them with informed choices for making effective decisions about their health and well-being. Thus, it encourages holistic care where preventive measures become important paradigms for maintaining good health. Chitty, (2007) describes core nursing as healthcare services within which nurses help people in maintaining health, minimizing disease and disability, restoring wellness, or facilitating a peaceful death for patients.

My personal vision of nursing encompasses the empowerment of people so that they are better equipped to maintain their health and all-round well-being.
