Luckily, the facility provides a clear reporting procedure for workplace aggression. Employees have the responsibility of reporting incidences that involve workplace violence.

The policies ensure that such incidences are dealt with once they are reported. Once an incident has occurred, employees are expected to report to their direct supervisors who are expected to act on the incident immediately. When individuals report incidences that make them uneasy, the company offers them psychological support. The strategy is very effective in reducing employees stress. It also increases their level of motivation because they are assured that the company appreciates them.Body Incidences of workplace violence are usually reported according to the company’s procedures.

Every employee is usually trained on the basic ideas of workplace violence so they are expected to respect each other. However, as stated above, most employees are not aware of what constitutes to lateral violence. These incidences are usually reported to direct supervisors. They are also expected to make sure that staffs report their exposure to occupational violence.

Finally, they are expected to investigate incidences of occupational violence once they have been reported. Once an incident has been investigated and there has been a demonstrated violent or aggressive event associated with an employee, the employee is mentally assessed. The management recognizes that some violent incidences like those associated with bullying, workplace harassment, horizontal violence, and relational aggression need psychological help. The experiences from violent experiences have a high risk of negatively affecting the morale of employees leading to lower productivity.

Health support also positively affects the reputation of the company which is regarded as a good employer. The aggressor on the other hand is usually punished for the offence. The punishment given depends on the seriousness of the violence to the victim. It ranges from being given an oral or written warning to being laid off. These actions have become very effective because they prevent employees from victimizing each other. In some cases, which are severe, the police are usually involved and hospital management is notified.

However, it is rare for the company to involve the police. After an incident, the company usually takes measures to reduce future harm as a result of exposure to occupational violence. The measures include providing additional training to staff to increase their awareness on matters that involve workplace violence. The management also has an ongoing management plan for employees who exhibit signs violent behaviors. The strategy involves offering them mental help so as to determine the cause of their violent behaviors and advise them on how they can manage their personal and work lives.

The management plan is reviewed and modified on a regular basis so as to implement the most appropriate risk control measure that are in line with the current employee situation. The plan is usually developed in collaboration with a Clinical Nurse Consultant.Conclusion Workplace violence has become one of the most crucial issues affecting companies and its employees.
