Numerical and text presentation of the statistical result as well as clear, simple and accurate graphs are used to present the findings.

The assumption in the study is that the postal code of the addresses represents the participant’s area of residents and the assumption is not stated. A limitation is that it focuses on the western part of Western Australia; this limitation is not also stated. The results are well analyzed and further research recommended for a similar study to be made with a focus on the northern areas of Western Australia. This recommendation is supported by the data. Generalizations are made to include future student participants of the success of RSR program in improving the success of rural student recruitment for medicine at University of Western Australia.

Quantitative Article Review The article has a clearly stated title that gives the key area of study and states the problem clearly that builds a persuasive need for the study. The article has significance on nursing in terms of conducting research on college students and the considerations of development differences in generations between researcher and the participants. There is a very close relation between the methods used and the research problem with the use of modern communication and data collection methods.

There is an explicit statement of the research question and it is consistent to the conceptual and ideological orientation of the study. Previous research is adequately analyzed and their findings used by the authors as a basis for the need for this research with emphasis on the shortcoming of this researches. The conceptual framework is appropriate and all the concepts in the study are defined. Rights of study of the participants were safeguarded owing to the voluntary nature of the study and a measure was taken to ensure benefits are maximized and risks minimized for the participants.

Presence of external review has not been stated in the article. The research design is congruent with methods of data collection and analysis and had a high communication times with the participants and the passing of substantial communication with the participants. The study gives a clear description of the desired sample for the study, a description of the setting and appropriate approach to get the participants to enroll was appropriate, as it was voluntary. The sample size was adequate surpassing n=30 for each of the religious groups required by the researchers for an adequate sample size reaching the saturation point when enrollment was closed by the research team.

Appropriate methods were used for data collection with data gathered using internet based survey that recorded the information leading to gathering the adequate amount of information that was sufficient, as the response rate was very high. The article describes the collection and recording methods adequately but there is a possibility of behavioral bias since the survey was filled by the participants themselves. The training of the staff was adequate owing to their previous experience in research of this magnitude and type in the first phase of the project and other researches.

Data analysis methods was not well presented in the study but sufficiently and credibility of the study is shown with the response rates and results. Research procedure is stated and decision made based on the findings of the study. The implications and recommendations of the study are stated in the conclusion and are valid in the nursing field. The main findings of the study are within the confines of the study scope and the interpretation is consistent with the reference and limitations of the study.

The researchers are credible owing to their participation in research of this magnitude and the skills and experience in the field of study enhancing confidence in the study. The organization and presentation of the article is good and the authors employ critical analysis with vivid and rich description of methods, findings, and interpretation.
