Why I Want To Become A Nurse I have been working as a Nursing Assistant for a total of 25 years. I am employed at a nursing home called Town House Extend Care Center. I have been working here for 18 years in total. I joined this profession out of my intrinsic desire to take care of people. Nursing is something I would like to continue doing for the whole life. The desire of being a nurse was planted as a seed in my heart when I was a little child and lived with my paternal grandmother. She raised me through the initial years of my life.

She had become very old and weak as I turned nine. I deeply loved her and took care of her all day. I helped her to the toilet, changed her clothes, made her soup, and combed her hair. These little things I did for her made a very positive change in her life. In her last days, she couldn’t speak but still she managed to somehow convey how much she appreciated every bit of what I did for her. That was when I realized that nursing was something I would never like to depart from. My grandmother died in my arms, but I promised her that I would continue taking care of others, till my last breath.

Over the years, I have carried out a lot of research on nursing. Having been practically associated with some nursing homes, I have also acquired valuable experience. Therefore, I want to become a nurse.
