...? Nursing and Section # of Nursing Introduction This purpose of this essay is to reflect upon an aspect of professional practice that I encountered on placement, using Gibbs model of reflection (1998). This model of six stages encourages practitioners to work through a series of reflective cues. Bentsson (1998) suggests that reflection can be understood and used as thinking and self-reflection helps nurses to learn about actual patrice of the profession and help them evaluate their own practice and performance. Bengtsson (1998) further suggests that nurse need to learn from these experiences and by doing so they may acquire the competences that are needed to teach others....

...NURSING First assignment In terms of what can be added or deleted to Nightingale’s nursing pledge, there are various opinions. This research suggests that some of the aspects of the pledge, especially those regarding client confidentiality, are appropriate for the modern nurse as well. However, there are certain culturally relative elements of the pledge, such as the specific reference to God, which may seem culturally insensitive to some nurses, who may be atheists, or practice a religion that worships Buddha, Krishna, Allah, etc., rather than this singular cultural religious concept that Nightingale includes in the pledge. From this perspective, client care for the...

...My passion and interest in nursing emerged from an experience I had when my son was a tiny three month old baby. I awoke in the middle of the night to find him with a temperature well above 100 degrees, shaking and shivering in a terrifying way. I was panicked, and had no idea what I should do, what was going on, and felt abject terror at the state of my child. I remember that the feeling of terror began to ease with the first medical care specialist I saw (nearly an hour later) at a local hospital. It was a triage nurse, and her comfort, confidence and bedside manner all made me begin to feel that my child was going to be okay. Following that, I saw nurses delivering medicine to my...
