The amount of clinical practice experience required varies depending upon the type of specialized advanced practice an aspiring nurse desires to yield at. Nurses in Arizona are not asked to attain a separate clinical experience as they do with the master's degree or certification credentials in their advanced-nursing career choice. The state however does require that the educating body take clinical practice experience into account as part of the educational curriculum and as requisite for completing a degree or certification (Zoldak). (2) Describe the role of the Advance Practice Nurse, Family Nurse Practitioner  An Advanced Practice Nurse (APN), first of all, is a nurse with a master’s degree and who may perform functions conducted at a medical doctor’s level whether as a Nurse Practitioner, Certified Nurse Anesthetist, Clinical Nurse Specialist, or Certified Nurse Midwife, specializing in areas as family medicine, oncology, or pediatrics.

As a Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP), an APN is capable of imparting basic care which may be specific to a certain health need or type of family group involved and is entitled to make prescriptions as well. With an advanced training in handling young and elderly patients alike, a family nurse practitioner takes on several complex roles exhibiting mixed assistance of a nurse that comes with a physician’s diagnostics and treatment authority. As a diagnostician, a FNP checks medical history and performs an examination from which to formulate diagnosis based on the matching evidence presented by the patient.

FNP should also manage collaboration with fellow nurse practitioners or physicians, able to demonstrate sound judgment in the course of expert interactions pertaining to treatment modalities and evaluation feedbacks thereafter (Brannagan). Medical procedures in the form of administering injections, skin biopsies, immunizations, and placing stitches whenever necessary are all part of a range of responsibilities which FNP is expected to deal with as treatment provider. By giving counsel to a young parent about the proper care for a child or discussing information with a middle-age man in facilitating remedy for high blood pressure or abnormal level of stress, FNP assumes the role of a health educator able to teach principles concerning diet, nutrition, and a number of other health subjects (Brannagan). (3) Describe your ultimate career goals as it pertains to the scope of practice of a nurse practitioner.

Life is essential indeed yet the love to support, protect, and sustain its breathing existence with the utmost sensibility I believe moves further bounds to this essence. At a point in life, I must admit having inevitably come across the realm of illness and I shall ever be grateful for people whose generous time, kind efforts, and resources had in all sincerity attended to such a sensitive case. It was quite overwhelming back then to have experienced a well-monitored recovery with an extra mile of affectionate care from the medical staff especially the nurses.

This stage I suppose marked the instant I gained profound interest with depth of insight and respect for medical profession in which personalized healthcare is highly regarded.
