Jazz has inculcated some elements of America's popular secular songs. Jazz music often consists of dance and ballads tunes with occasional simpler forms of harmonies orchestrated and accompanied by some string instruments and saxophone (Frith, 15) Catalina’s Jazz Club in Hollywood is the best place to be every weekend to enjoy some of the best jazz music in the US.

The type of music played here is one of the best-rated jazz music globally. Some of the best performers here include; Gary Taylor, Charnett Moffett, and Jack Jones jazz band among others. As usual, the weekend of 27th June was not exceptional, Jack Jones's band was competing with a new band in town called Ron Carter trio band. Both bands are led by Jack and Carter respectively. Jones performed some of his newly composed music in jazz genres, and he tried to convince the whole crowd why he wanted his band to be recognized as the best band in jazz music.

His music was well orchestrated and organized with most of the instruments tuned to their right tune, and played in the right keys and rhythm. Indeed Jones's band members tried to remain on the right keynotes always throughout the music play. However, there rose a problem when the saxophone player went off-key, perhaps it was because of a change of song since it was a three-music nonstop competition. Ron Carter's trio band, led by Carter, was as well on the right step to fighting for their best position in the whole arena of jazz music.

The team was similarly organized with all the instruments arranged in a well-choreographed manner to produce the best synchronized music and sound that could make them win the weekend competition. Their lead soloist was well prepared, and it seemed all went well for the band until a few minutes to end when the lead guitar man played an off-key note resulting in the presentation halting for a few minutes to correct the mistake before restarting. In comparing both the presentation, I can start by analyzing the first presentation by Jones.

The presentation was well planned, with proper organization and arrangements of the instruments and their play, leading to the production of good proper music. It only interfered with the slight discord that was played by the saxophone player. The band members showed proper association of mood about the music they were playing; this provided the best method of sending information to the general listeners and keeping them in the right mood. The tempo was good throughout the whole presentation, and this made the presentation to be on track throughout.

On the side of Carter's band, band did fairly well according to my assessment. Their melody was cool with the instruments properly arranged in style and tuned to provide the correct tunes throughout; this was achieved even though a guitarist played some off-tune keys that occasionally were rectified. The music tempo was well maintained, and all the instruments, soloists and other band members were well choreographed to bring super good music to listen. Moreover, the band team members tried to relate their various songs with the message that it portrays.

This led to good and exclusive alteration of the moods of the whole crew during the performance. Nevertheless, the Carter team band portrayed little mastery of stage performance, and this made them occupy a section of the vast stage thus appearing to perform only to some section of the audience. From that analysis, Jones's team jazz band had the overall best performance and can, therefore, still retain the title of the best-performing jazz music band in the region. Work cited Frith, Simon. “Is Jazz Popular Music?
