s makes me wonder what would come from the current trend of different races studying in countries like the United States, Australia and the United Kingdom in order to become globally competitive. Non-native speakers are spending a lot in order to effectively communicate in English and the language seems to be the language merging peoples around the world. Therefore, I tried to make readers become critical if the process of globalization is making us greater or otherwise. I think this is timely and it makes people keep things into perspective and consider what matters most in the process that we are going through.
I used free form in the poem about globalization because I consider it a common form used in modern times. I wanted to use a modern form for a modern and timely topic. However, even if free form is used, I still limited the stanzas to the same number of lines. In addition, there are certain lines where they were end-stopped such as the last four lines of the first stanza, the last two lines of the second stanza and the four middle lines of the last stanza. The sentences are quite long and I had to break them to create nearly similar lengths of lines.
Moreover, since the poem is also a comparison between globalization in two eras, juxtaposition (Murray) is used to present the two worlds. Love is probably the most talked about subject matter not only in poetry but in other literary works as well. Since Valentine’s Day was just celebrated a few weeks ago, the topic is considered timely as well. I used rhymes in the poem because for me, the use of a rhyming scheme is classic which is appropriately used for a classic subject matter. Although there is no particular meter used, I made it a point that the numbers of syllables used are nearly similar.
The mood or atmosphere in the poem does not only present the feelings that express love but presents a critical analysis of the subject matter. I believe that as expressed in the poem, love is oftentimes
