The only contact with Israel is a safety deposit box occasionally refilled with cash. The first kill takes place in Rome of the poet and translator of One Thousand and One Nights into Italian in his apartment. The second dies after being hospitalized following a bomb detonation attached to his phone. The third target is killed in Cyprus by explosives planted under his bed in a hotel. Louis, an informant gives information on the whereabouts of the next three Palestinians. They are found in Beirut and are top members of the PLO.

To Avner’s disappointment, this time the Israeli Defense Forces are involved, and together they penetrate the guarded compound of the Palestinian leaders. Here they kill not only the three targets but other militia too. In Athens, they come across four PLO members in a rented apartment and discuss politics with their group leader Ali. The target however is another person, and he is targeted by a remote controlled bomb hidden inside his television set. The bomb fails to detonate but he is then killed by a grenade that sets of the bomb instead.

However, Ali is also killed in the ensuing gunfire between with target Muchasi’s bodyguards and other PLO members. The prime target is another Ali Hassan Salameh who organized the Munich Massacre. He is tracked down in London but Avner fails to assassinate him due to the intervention of some drunken Americans believed to be CIA agents. At this point, there is another setback when a Dutch female assassin kills one of the team members Carl, a former Israeli soldier. Now the team starts to feel more pressure too when Robert, the explosives expert expresses his unhappiness with the mission on moral grounds.

Avner allows him to take a break. Then the rest set off to Holland to avenge Carl’s death. But two more team members are killed. One dies from stab wounds on a park bench and Robert from an explosion in his own workshop. Then Avner and Steve,
