Whenever we talk about the methods implicated in the project management we in general refer those methods towards the management of people as well as resources. The management of people is the management of workers. Management of people guides us about the roles and duties that a worker can perform in a project for making a project successful. It also guides management what type of staff should reserve for a specific project (Kerzner, 2003). In this paper I will explain the main phases of the project life cycle, then I will elaborate how in project life cycle, a failures occur, or the main phases of the project life cycle that mostly leads to failures if they are nor properly managed?
I will also present the contemporary project management techniques and suggestion to mitigate risk of failure. In this stage we collect the requirements from user for the development of the project. This stage is the most important stages of any project. In this stage you have to know about what you have to develop. Here interviews, surveys, and different data collection techniques are adopted to collect the necessary requirements to develop the system. Requirements can be categorized as functional, non functional, system and user.
All those have different aims and directions. Like functional requirements are related to functionality of system means what system will do? Non function related to hardware software specification and etc (Cleland, 1995). Next comes the design phase, in this phase we design the system functionality, interface and working according to requirements we have collected previously. In this phase different modules of a system are designed. This is also very important phase. Good design can leads to successful project completion (Collier et al, 1996).
Next phase is the Development Phase: The development phase is where the physical implementation of the project takes place. This is the stage where hardware and software are shaped to
