In order to teach students of different cultures in one classroom the teacher has to maintain some rules and principles. These rules and techniques may strengthen the students’ desire to get a particular qualification which may not be available in their homeland. In this age of globalization, cultural factors greatly affect the dynamics of human relationships. Children as young as preschool age encounter situations wherein they are exposed to cultures other than their own. It is the quality of these experiences that would set their expectations and perspectives in dealing with people of other cultural groups.
Diversity can affect both the environment of the class and the students. The language differences may lead the students to a communication gap. Students belonging to a different culture may face different problems in accordance to their living standards. The skill level expectation of the students depends upon their origin and culture.
For example a student of China would face difficulties while studying in the UK. This is because the student is not able to cope with the standards of education in the UK as he has always studied in the standards of China. He may face difficulties in understanding the language and writing according to the standards in the UK. Culture is an important part in the students life. If a person is part of the UK culture, then he would have no difficulties in adjusting to the school environment in UK.
