On the other hand, a 1:8 teacher is to child ratio must be provided for children who are aged two to below three years of age. And lastly, children whose ages are three years to six years of age must be guided by a 1:10 teacher is to children ratio. Aside from teachers, there must be at least two members of the primary contact staff present in the premises of the service center. Meanwhile, if there is a group of children with uneven age bracket, the ratio of the primary contact staff as to children must follow the bracket where the youngest child belongs.

In total, the number of children that may attend the center must not exceed 90; where there must be a maximum of 30 children less than two years of age and a maximum of 60 children for those of or above two years but below six years old. Licensees of owners of family day care children’s service must ensure that they do not exceed a total of seven children under 12 years of age and no more than five children for those who do not attend school in a regular basis. The same provision applies for licensees of home based children’s service.

When the child arrives in the child care center, there must be a teacher or staff who will receive and take care of the child. Upon finishing classes, the child could only leave if the parent is the one fetching the child or someone who has a written consent to collect the child. Otherwise, special arrangements must be made prior to leaving the child care premises. Children who arrive or leave the premises without adult supervision must secure a prior proper written arrangement with the child’s parents.
