New Beginnings - From Ship to Shore I entered the Navy five years ago, and this experience is more than service to me. It is a way of life, a philosophy, a perspective of a certain kind. My life in the Navy is a valuable never-ending lesson that reveals to me my own strengths, goals, and opportunities. Despite all strict rules and tough discipline, the Navy was my school of life. It taught me responsibility for my thoughts and actions; helped me to grow independent from both my parents and my own weaknesses; it also led me to prioritizing my decisions.
Significantly, it is while serving in the Navy when I have learned to always have a plan, and to always be aware of the rapid flow of life. As surprising as it may be, the Navy did not result in making me a rigid man, or breaking me with its discipline and harsh laws. On the contrary, the most valuable lesson I have learned during the years of service is to never stop on the path of self-development. The motive to be a successful man in all aspects of this word has always been a natural feeling for me.
However, only while serving I have realized that hard work and constant self-development are the key points to real success. Real success for me is a balance between material, intellectual, and emotional happiness of achievements. Most importantly, the Navy has constantly pushed my ambitions toward my deepest desires of self-realization. Although I have served for a significant amount of time, I am currently transitioning out to be a civilian due to my decision to pursue my self-development goals.
The first step on the path of the new beginnings is obtaining my Masters Degree in anesthesiology assisting. Upon attending Western Washington University, I will have my associates in general studies completed. Western Washington University is an academic school, which is a good match for me because of the excellent curriculum the biology program has to offer (Catalog.www.edu). With the broad variety of choices available for me, I would be able to find the area I am interested in, and apply my skills in order to study the course.
Moreover, I appreciate the learning environment in Western Washington University, as it brings together a number of students from different faculties, majoring in a variety of subjects, and being culturally and socially diverse individuals. This allows every student to share their growing personality with others and get the mutual benefits from them as well.Considering the ways the Navy has affected me, I am confident in my ambitions for attending this course. Taking upon my skills and experiences, I am eager to attend the courses of my chosen major, as it will give me the opportunity to expand my knowledge, and introduce me to the area I have always dreamt of for my entire childhood.
Being able to work with people, and, more importantly, help them recover is my primary goal. It will also be a great step in building my path toward scientific excellence. Works citedCatalog.wwu.edu.
