The advocacy of neoliberal principles may be defined as “economic Liberty”. Economic liberty has the influence of reducing government spending and enjoying free trade influences (Sawyer, 2004). To put into perspective, an example of such conflict is the current Nigeria oil wars. Ecuador is among the largest supplier of oil to the western side of the United States of America. With the increase of companies’ exploration of oil in the region, there has been an increased activism.
