Transfer Application My interest in economics can be attributed to my neighbor, who is a family friend and a professor of economics. He is so successful that no one would resist admiring his prowess and considering him a mentor. At one point, I overheard him discussing with my father how he and his team were planning major economic reforms for the government to improve the country’s economy. Ever since I was seven, I knew that I wanted to be just like him or even surpass him by becoming a popular economics scholar, not only in my country, but also in the entire world.

My passion for becoming one of the greatest economists of all time was further bolstered by television programs in which guest economics scholars would air their opinions on various aspects of our country’s economy. It has ever been my dream to pursue economics and participate actively in establishment of sound economic policies in the best interest of my country and improve the economic welfare of people in my community.After graduating from high school, I joined Northeastern University where I am currently majoring in finance.

Students often make wrong career choices only to realize later that they need to pursue what their heart desire. Under the influence of my father and one of his friends who is a banker, I found myself sitting in finance class. Even though I have had interesting lectures in finance and vast resources at Northeastern University, my passion for the course has never been stronger as it is for economics. I often caught myself borrowing more economics books and other literature from the library than finance books.

It has become apparent to me that I have to pursue my childhood dream, which is only possible by changing my major from finance to economics. Fortunately, economics and finance are not worlds apart, which would hinder my transfer quest. My heart has never desired pursuing economics profession anywhere else, but New York University (NYU). It is for this reason that I am applying for a chance at the esteemed institution so that I can accomplish my long-term dream.When accepted at NYU, I intend to make good use the institution’s learning resources to achieve the best grade that will enable me to continue pursuing economics to the highest possible level.

Luckily, the main focus of NYU is on academic enterprise and the university has such a stimulating study environment promoted by its diversity. The institution endows students with essential resources and skills through incandescent teaching, which is crucial element in the path of becoming a successful scholar. While at NYU, I plan to actively engage in leadership affairs by joining the Center for Student Activities, Leadership and Services, which will enable me to learn about ethical leadership concepts.

I also intend to join economics club at the university or register one so that students of economics major can find an avenue to discuss important economic matters outside classroom. I intend to engage in economic research to enhance my understanding of economic policies and crucial factors that are taken into consideration for establishing sound polices. Fortunately, NYU offers a global learning network with opportunity for students to engage in research work, thus equipping them with critical research skills in their fields of study.

Based on the culture of the university and its strong global presence, I strongly believe that NYU is the place for me to pursue my economics course and achieve my long-term dream of improving the economic welfare of citizens of my country.
