I always felt as though I as singled out when I was growing up because there was no one like me. Because all of the professors at Gallaudet could understand American Sign Language, I felt like for the first time in my life I was able to understand and comprehend what my teachers were saying. This was just the first step for me; I now want to transfer to the University of Texas in Austin so that I can expand my knowledge. I am looking forward to this with great excitement because I have been informed that there are many deaf students attending UTA, so I will be able to fit in as I have always hoped and dreamed for.

Why I Wish to Pursue a Career in Law Enforcement

Why I Wish To Pursue A Career In Law Enforcement Public Service is defined as a service that is performed for the benefit of the public or its institutions. Since I was very young, I have looked up to, and admired police officers. Police officers, to me, are the embodiment of courage, tenacity and integrity.
I realize even as I write this, that police work is not what I presume it to be. It is not the title "Police Officer" that inspires my desire to enter the world of public service as I have defined it. Rather, it is my desire to become a public servant which inspires me to do everything in my power to become a police officer.
Police officers, it seems, are under paid and under appreciated. Each day their lives are...

I want a wife

... is no such thing as, ‘a woman’s duty’ any longer as the responsibility is a shared one and the concept of a marriage begins in communication and ends as it being the key factor in developing a strong and mutually respectful bond between a husband and a wife. Brady (2002) makes statements in her article, such as: “I want a wife who will take care of the details of my social life” and “I want a wife who will serve food to me and my friends and not interrupt when I talk about things that interest me and my friends”. These statements, although might have been written to show sympathy and understanding to wives, by Brady, these are still words that come across as characterizing a wife who is willing to serve her husband and his friends...

Why I want to Study at Pepperdine

...I am a young Mexican catholic female who is on the verge of graduating from high school and I want to pursue my higher education degree at Pepperdine. Your commitment to integrate faith and learning challenges to ultimately call for a life of service is appealing to me because I have always thought that what is obtained should be shared with the community. Give unto others as it has been given to you. The impact that the service-learning may have on me in renewing my mind, spirit, and community are insurmountable. I already have a grounded foundation and Pepperdine will help me...

Why I Want to Study Law

...Why I Want to Study Law If this world is an embodiment of beauty, justice is what gives it peace. Imagining this world without law and order, there would be no concept of crime; people would do what they would like to and there would be no value of people’s tears and pain. One would kill another and be happy as though he has done a novel deed. Survival would be but, a matter of struggle. This is precisely the reason why I choose law as my future career. Law is the determinant of not just the happiness of humans, it establish the very survival and sustenance of human race with peace and humanity as its goal. Who Am I

Descartes's belief "I think therefore I am" came to be known as Cogito. This implies that human beings are merely bundles of perception.
Descartes asserts that whatever he perceives very distinctly and clearly is true. He says if you can convince yourself that you exist, then you really do. This definitely means that we exist because we perceive it. He feels the Supreme Power tries to change our perception into making us believe that we are nothing but as long as remain firm that we exist, we really exist. Human beings are capable of thinking, that is a fact. He also firmly believes that clear and distinct perception is the mark of knowledge. Thinking makes you feel sure that you exist. Even doubting your existence, confirms...

A Comparative Study of the Origins of Ethical Thoughts

Do you know what they dug out? -- Wires! It proves that two thousand five hundred years ago, in the age of Pericles, the Greeks had telephones”. The Jew laughingly retorted: “Recently they were digging in Jerusalem. They dug out nothing. This proves that three thousand years ago when Solomon was the king of Judea, the Jews had the principle of wireless!”

ETHICS AND DIVERSE DEFENITIONS: One of the Dilemmas of the civilized human society was the fight between the soul and the flesh or rather the body and desires. The question is how to divert human energy in an intelligent, controlled way? Searching answers to this question one lands in the premise of ethics, personal as well as social. Ethics (English)...

Conflict Between Researh and Ethics on the Tuskegee Syphilis Study

The Declaration of Helsinki by the WHO clearly states that in clinical trials involving humans the wellbeing of the subject should be of prime importance than the interest of science or society. This has been stated because at times in order to achieve the objectives of a study the investigators might overlook the welfare of the trial subjects thus jeopardizing their health in the process. According to ethical rules while comparing two treatment options the control group of the study must receive the best-known treatment available while the study subjects are given a potential newer treatment. Only when there is no effective treatment available a placebo-controlled group can be used for the study. There have been several trials th...

I Have Sinned by Bill Clinton

President Clinton addressed an audience comprising clergymen and ministers. The buildup to this event was much hyped as the earlier statement made by the President before the independent Ken Starr counsel on August 17, 1998, was charged with perjury and deliberate obfuscation of truth. Moreover, the earlier speech did not mention Monica Lewinsky and her family – a form of non-renouncing apology, which is a rhetorical ploy to generalize one’s actions, in a bid to justify one’s wrongdoing in a noncommittal manner. Such an approach diminishes the graveness of the action for which an entire nation was ashamed of, not to mention the tremendous social and psychological damage it did to Monica Lewinsky and her family.

The Study of Byzantine Movement

The term Byzantine art is usually referred to as the artistic products of the Eastern Roman Empire. Some regard it as the direct continuation of Greco-Roman art, especially the developing and flourishing of Roman art. During the thirteenth century, while the art and aesthetic ideas of antiquity were developing in the Roman culture, thought and writing was manifested in Greek rather than Latin. “From such perspective, Byzantine art emerges as western art and will be seen as its most effective in its continuation and adaptations of classicism” (Cormack, 2000 p. vi). The Byzantine artists claim to have followed the antiquity and they illustrated holy figures along with the images of the emperors of that time. Furthermore,...
