Google Introduction Google Incorporation got its from the incorrect spelling of googol. It began as a project for two students; Larry Page and Sergey Brin in 1996. At first the two inventors used the Stanford university website calling it; google. stanford. edu. Google was then registered as a company name in 1997 and the company officially began its operations in 1998. By the beginning of 1999, Google had almost 60 million pages. Their first office was the garage of their friend, they later moved to another office in 1999. This office was located in Palo Alto, later obtaining a building in Mountain View. Google has grown to attract large numbers of users who access the internet daily. The company has been selling text based ads that incorporates search keywords. This has been one of their largest income earners over the past decade. (Google Incorporation, 2014). Larry and Brin obtained their first capital in form of a donation from Andy Bechtolsheim, A Partner at Sun Microsystems. Google has over the past years gained a large pool of capital. Selling its first shares in 2004 where 19,605,052 shares were sold at $85 per share. Google is now operating in different countries of the world and worked with many corporations such as NASA, AOL, and News Corp’s. Google has become part of the largest providers of social media platforms. In corporation with mobile companies, it created the Mobi. top level. This is an area for mobile internet that allows mobile users to access the internet through their phones for quick communication. Body Most of the scholars have come up with lots of work done on business strategy but most of them have not withstood the test of time. Many people are well familiar with Mintzberg and Water’s strategy of 1985. Mintzberg is one of the best strategic thinkers. In collaboration with James Waters they both developed a model that showed how strategy is developed and how it is ultimately delivered. In their model, strategy delivery is made up of two sides. The deliberate strategy which includes what the organization desires to do and the emergent strategy which indicates what happened during the process (Mintzberg, 2010). The model looks like this; Google incorporation has been one of the company’s in the world that is utilizing this model in connecting up with entrepreneurs and coming up with the latest inventories in the world of technology in order to meet their customers’ demands. Google being one the most important and the largest search engines in the world must ensure that combines with the emergent strategies in order to realize their strategy. Some of the examples includes solve for X 2014 which converged 60 entrepreneurs who celebrated and accelerated moonshots pioneers (Google Incorporation, 2014). The group of scientists and entrepreneurs gathered and discussed 18 moonshot proposals. It is amazing that some of the proposal were world changing projects which aimed at addressing huge problems. Their meetings also proposed radical solutions by forming breakthrough technologies. Ira Glass one of the participants highlighted on the need for climate change. Leslie Dewan proposed the generation of power from nuclear waste based on Lonnie Johnsons JTEC invention which would otherwise allow us to convert heat directly into electricity. During this session Karen Gleason brought solar cells printed on paper. These are some of the examples that Google Incorporation is using to hasten its research and development programs. Google has also developed Chromebox which has now made it simpler and better for people to meet. It is now easy to connect to other people using the Chromebox which are face to face. This technology makes it easy to brainstorm easily and make faster decisions especially for business people. Chromebox a product of Google is built on the principles of speed, simplicity, and security and brings together Google + hangouts and Google Apps. Google has also developed art made with code. This is a strategy which aims at calling for future interactive artists. Google has made it easier to connect between science and art. The modern artists like Madonna are using technology as a means of inspiration and inventing ways to give life to code. What is being presented is able to spill from the screens to the canvas. This technology has been labeled DevArt. Moreover Google is planning more as a way to meet its strategies in the field of technology. Google is planning a Doodle competition in which the winner of the competition will enjoy a one day exhibition of his/her creativity on doodle. The winner is also set to enjoy a $30,000 college scholarship as well as a $50,000 Google for education technology grant for his/her school. This field of technology has its future in the young generation. For this reason, there is need to continuously support the younger generation to use science and technology. This year Google is rolling $ 1.5 Million to 42 organizations within 19 countries that are supporting girls and poor students in the field of extracurricular computer science programs. The Program dubbed Google RISE (Roots in Science and Engineering) Awards is meant to provide after school computer programs that will mentor and prepare bright students from disadvantaged communities for a bright future in top colleges and universities. Google is not the only Company that has applied the Mintzberg and Waters model. Most of the communication and technology companies like Microsoft have also applied this technology which has ensured that Microsoft remains on top when it comes to computer software. Other companies include Apple Incorporation and Samsung Company. Mobile phone producing companies such as Samsung and Apple engage in cultural diversity in order to avert competition that has led to legal battles in the court. Cultural diversity is aimed at capturing and winning the market share (Preston, 2012). Google Incorporation is also another company that enjoys the real value of cultural diversity. The company has branches in virtually all the countries in the world. They also provide services as per the designated languages of their host companies. The company is now the leading provider of internet services with the largest search engine. Conclusion With the tacit knowledge of deliberate and emergent strategies most of the above named companies have managed to emerge as best performing companies with each competing for the latest invention.
