Along with this, in previous age leadership development came into limelight so as to improve the morale and inner talent of the employees. This is done to increase the level of performance and motivation of the employees towards the responsibilities of their work and also the rules and regulations of the organization. However, in recent age leadership concept is applied on the basis of intellect and not on intuition as well as on knowledge and expertise and not on power or wisdom. Due to which, maximum extent of the leaders in this age are extremely successful as compared to others. This research paper mainly highlights on the importance and definition of administrative leadership style along with its pitfalls. It also focuses the differences of administrative leadership styles followed by Martin L. King JR as compared to others. Apart from this, it also highlights the relationship between leadership and management in this recent age. Definition of Administrative leadership style Leadership is recognized as the concept of organizing and managing a group of individual in order to achieve the objective of the organization. It may also be described as the style with the help of which the followers or employees of an organization or group become motivated to attain the common goal or objective. However, according to varied researches or studies, it might be depicted that leaders comprise of varied traits such as promising behavior, power, vision, values, challenges, personality and intelligence so as to cope up with various situational interactions. Thus it might be stated that the employees or follower would follow only that individual who comprises the ability to guide or direct others. Leadership is directly proportional with the concepts and aspects of social power or administration. This is because administration is also described as the process to manage and control a specific group of individual within an organization. So it is also quite similar to the features of social power. Administrative leader is recognized as an individual who leads a team and also in-charge of the supervision of the duties and responsibilities of his or her team members. Apart from this, an administrative leader includes the power of communication and effective management of the ideas and information to the other members so as to attain their views in this regard. Other than this, he or she is also responsible for the performance of the tasks of the teammates in order to achieve the goals. Similarly, Martin L. King JR might be described as an administrative leader due to his personal qualities and philosophy of extreme patience and courage. Just as a teacher or an administrator tries to fight for the benefits of his students, Martin L. King JR also desired to fight for the right of equality for the inhabitants of US. In spite of this, he also comprised of high level of confidence and trust within his minds that he would surely achieve the dream of freeing the country of US from the curse of discrimination and segregation (Schaefer, 1998). He was an American Clergyman and a popular name during the civil rights movement between Africa and America. Martin L. King Junior is best known for the role he played during the civil rights movement. He emerged as the national icon in the history of revolution in America. In the year 1964 he was honored with the Nobel Prize award for his role against inequality through the process of non violence. The icon is remembered even today and the third Monday of January each year is observed as the Martin L. King Jr. day across all the fifty states of the United States. Thus due to his loyalty and extreme trust over his followers, they became successful in controlling and managing the citizens of US in an effective way thereby making them follow the path of non-violence. So he might be depicted as an administrative leader who became successful in achieving the dreams and goals of future. Difference between Administrative Leadership development with other Leadership Styles Administrative leadership is one that comprises of the authority to administer and control the followers or employees of an organization. Other than this, he also tries to communicate with each and every member of the group or organization to analyze their requirements. Side by side, varied types of ideas and information are also presented by these employees that might prove effective for the organization. On the other hand, administrative leaders like Martin L. King JR offered significant control over the position of a particular race of people and their treatments within the society of US. Martin L. King JR comprised of high-level of knowledge and expertise so as to fulfill his dreams of a racial discrimination free region of US. However, to do so he followed the path of non-violence just like Gandhi, to protest against racism. But his level of courage did not declined, in spite of the truth that it might take ever-ending time. Still he maintained his courage of fighting against the curse of racism in the country of US. Finally he became successful to achieve his dream of freeing US from racism. Hence, in his entire life, he attained many achievements and awards that created a significant place for him in history and influenced the individual in enhancing the lives of the multiple generations in US. So, Martin L. King JR is one of the reputed and inspirational character or administrative leader in the global history among many other renowned leaders who transcended racial barriers of American society in an effective way. He peacefully achieved the dream through nonviolent methods and created a positive impact over the entire nation. Thus he surely included the features or qualities of administrative leader. However, such type of leadership qualities might not be seen in other leadership styles. So, other styles or qualities might not become effective for Martin L. King JR to accomplish his dream of fighting against racism. Whether Leadership Is Exclusively Administrative Yes, leadership is exclusively administrative. This is because leadership is the process to administer and manage the activities and duties of a group of individual in such a way that they might act for the fulfillment of the common objective. The leader needs to accomplish high level of knowledge and expertise, so he might speak in logical manner to make the followers follow his path. Apart from this, the leader might comprise of the quality to communicate in front of the other members of the group or organization so that the views and ideas of the followers or employees might come into existence. Along with this, honesty and integrity are also essential for a leader as it might help him to select the ethical path. Just as selection of non-violence methods by Martin L King JR to fight against racism, within the society of U.S. He also accomplished huge confidence, as non-violence means attainment of the objective in a long period of time. Due to which, numerous leaders fail to maintain their trust and poise over the method and become highly violent. But such type of qualities may not be viewed within the personality or character of Martin L. King JR and so he ultimately became successful in presenting a racism free country of US. Therefore it might be described that Martin L. King JR is surely an administrative leader as he maintained his courage and trust over this method and so inspired others to follow such method in spite of huge durations. So, in spite of huge hardship and trouble, he maintained his style of leadership. Hence leadership is exclusively described as administrative. Pitfalls of Administrative leadership style In spite of varied advantages, there also exist numerous pitfalls of an administrator as well. Some of them may be described as below: The administrator or the manager of the organization or group might be extremely proudly and arrogant in nature. He might fail to work for the betterment of the society or nation and may be more interested for the advancement of own interests. Apart from this, the administrator might be extremely lazy to perform his duties and actions in appropriate time (Gosman, 2011). As a result, it might become effective for the organization or the society of the country. Side by side, the administrator might also lack the underlining skills and talents required to accomplish the common objective of the nation or organization. Due to which the followers might also fail to obey the ideas and notions presented by the administrator in front of them. As a result, the administrator may not attain a good relationship with his or her employees or followers. Therefore, a conflicting situation might arise among them resulting in downfall of the motivational level or morale of the employees or followers of the group. Apart from these above mentioned qualities, the administrator might lack the required knowledge and skills essential to attain the objective of the organization or nation. Due to which, the administrator might fail to select the actual path that may prove effective for the organization or nation in future era. Side by side, in spite of taking care of the well-being of the others, he might always be interested for the betterment of the own-self. Due to which, the followers might lack the interest to follow his or her administrator resulting in failure of accomplishment of the objective. But if these qualities may not be viewed within a good or effective administrator then he or she might never become able to manage and control the other members. However, such types of characteristics features are not at all visible within the nature of Martin L. King JR. He was just opposite to the qualities mentioned in the above paragraphs. Due to which, he became one of the legendary leaders who worked for the benefit of the individual of the country of US following non-violence. Relationship between Leadership and Management Leadership is directly related with the management theories and policies of an organization or nation. This is because the leaders always work for the benefit of the organization only after being fully accepted by those regulations. Other than this, if both leader and the management of an organization understand the ideas and notions of the employees then only they might become able to work in a coordinated way. This is because, leader works for the betterment of the employees of an organization who might work to accomplish the objectives. However, to attain the objectives, it is essential to comprise the following qualities like honesty and integrity. Side by side, hard work and loyalty is also essential for the leader to attract the followers towards his end as compared to others. Moreover, he might desire the quality to communicate freely with each and every follower so as to evaluate the desires of their minds and also to know their views regarding the subject and to attain new views over it so as to present them towards management. May be those suggestions become extremely beneficial for the organizational betterment in future. Similarly, Martin L. King JR’s honesty and patience attracted all other followers and citizens of US to follow the rules and regulations of non-violence. In spite of knowing the fact that it might take huge amount of time to attain the objective of getting a free racialist country, all followed the theory of Gandhi or Martin L. King JR. This is because he finally became successful in attaining the objective due to his high-level of patience and courage (Fairclough, 1995).
