role of city mayor or city manager cannot be under played since he is not only in charge of the day to day running of the funds that are collected as taxes in that particular city but he also oversees all the development plans in the city. Thus the position of the city manager or the city mayor is more than important. Basing my preference with the best interest of the new Metropolis city at heart I think the city would rather have a City manager than a City Mayor (Anderson 31). One very interesting thing and also important about the city manager type of leadership is the fact this is a type of leadership that has the interest of the residents at heart compared to the city mayor type of leadership.

This is because, in this system of leadership the ideas of the residents are taken into considerations as far as the day to day running the city is concerned. Every resident of the Metropolis and all the stakeholders like the businessmen and the civic leaders would love if their voices are respected in the day to day running of the city that is why I prefer the manager type of city management (Anderson 31). On the other hand the city mayors leadership does not take into account the feelings of the residents and the stakeholders about a certain idea or a certain development and thus it will only be fair to put a leadership style that has the best interest of the citizens at heart.

One good thing with this type of leadership as in engaging the public in the daily running of the city is that there will be very minimal incidents of citizens rioting and demonstrations over a certain issue that the administration of the city is planning to carry out. This will always ensure that no development plans are delayed by such occurrences since most of the ideas as far as the developments are concerned will have been approved by the public and all the stakeholders (Sonderegger & Tommy 34).

One important thing to note is the fact that city manager type of leadership is also better
