Download file to see previous pages Al Jazeera showed the true picture of the war and not what the American government wished for its people to see; the realities of the war. In fact, if one carefully considers the information that this channel broadcast during this war, there would be a realization that the American public would not have supported such a war had they seen what it did not, only to the Arabs of Iraq, but also to the American men and women who went to fight in the war. Control Room is a revelation towards some of the events that took place in Iraq and how these events were covered by the Al Jazeera network. It reveals that, despite the statements made against it by the Bush administration, none of the statements made were true and were, in fact, an attempt to cover up the truth about the war from the American public. This documentary is an attempt to show the news about the Iraq war, not from the perspective of the media of the west, but that of the region in which the war occurred.
The first scenes of this documentary seem to reinforce the belief that the network sole purpose is spreading anti-American propaganda. The documentary reveals that the statements by President Bush and his secretary of defense, Donald Rumsfeld, that Al Jazeera was the mouthpiece of Osama bin Laden and that it was the Centre of anti-American propaganda in the United States are completely unfounded (Turan). In fact, it is revealed that the exact opposite is the truth; that Al Jazeera is a network that is dedicated ...Download file to see next pagesRead More

Control Room

...? Control Room (Film Review Do you think that the documentary has delivered the message of its theme? War has many facets that plays with the imaginations of the people, manipulates their emotions and exploit their information. The single word ‘enemy’ portrays a vengeful, murdering, loathsome, inhumane character that must be executed before he manages to cause you great loss. US government and Defense has played with this very image when they had projected their aims and activities on war on Iraq. They had even declared the live reporting of Al-Jazeera as against Geneva Convention and regarded it an Arab propagandist (Yahiya, and Snow 25-32). However, this movie, Control...

Control room

...?Full The Control Room The Control Room can be said to have been rightly en d as it has presented how it could be able to gather and control information to be brought out. The aim of the film to show how things are sifted in the media showed different views from the military, laypeople and media men themselves and has in a way clarified matters which will always be to the audiences’ agreement or disagreement whatever their stand may be. Control Room - a video by Al Jazeera

...Control Room - a video by Al Jazeera “Control Room” is a video documentary published by the Al Jazeera media network. It was all about the news coverage of the network during the onset and the progress of the conflict between the US and Iraq which led to an offensive military action due to the unwillingness of Saddam Hussein’s regime to allow the US to conduct inspections that will prove the absence of weapons of mass destruction in the country.
