People should do things because they should The society today has many expectations for every person. However, many times people end up doing things because other people have certain expectations concerning them. This should not be the case because each person should be cautious in taking his or her own responsibility. In this context, this paper will discuss this subject of the expectations of a person in the society. In as much as it is necessary for people to do what is expected of them, it is also beneficial that each person is let free do as he or she pleases.

The society can press a person against the wall to do something he or she does not want. A person ends up merely unhappy (the better variant) or totally devastated and stripped of any bright expectations (the worse scenario) because of the things that he or she is doing. By the end of the day, it is clear that someone has been wasting his or her precious lifetime and efforts to do something that may not be profitable for him or her. This is because this individual has been working hard to ensure that he or she does not disappoint another person (Schlossberger 146).

The resulting person is, at least, an unhappy one. Secondly, it is worth noting to ensure that a person does what is pleasing for him or her. Having such an opportunity makes a person having a feeling of fulfillment, rather than the feeling of being used and existing under another person’s control. In addition, one gets a chance to realize his or her potential. It is a golden chance to prove to the community that he or she is mature and can make sound choices in planning his or her life. In this regard, it is necessary that every person does what he or she should do (Schlossberger 148).
