The AMA would have been better to give their results and then state how the information was obtained. A little disclaimer could have been added so that readers could know that the results were not concrete.No, it is not ethical because it is deliberately misleading the public to believe something that has not been proven scientifically.

The news media has a responsibility to always provide facts and nothing but the truth to its readers.No, the end does not justify the means because the AMA used deceptive means to achieve their goal. If they had gone about their survey in a proper manner, then it would have given more substance to their claim. The end outcome is valid, yet the means used to achieve it are not.
