From a different angle of view, the 9/11 attack proves that the United States was not prepared to face such challenges. Still, this incident proves that the terrorist groups utilized the chance to challenge the United States within its limitations. Thesis statement: The political and military unpreparedness for the 9/11 type of attack on US soil proves that the United States needs to inculcate innovative ideas into intelligence, policies and military preparedness (special references to the 9/11 attack).
As pointed out, the rapid spread of terrorism needs to be considered as an imminent threat to world peace because the terrorist groups are strong enough to attack any nation. To be specific, the rapid increase in terrorist plots proves that terrorism is not limited to some of the nations in the Middle East. Within this context, the US soil is the primary target of the terrorist groups. Earlier, terrorism was limited to the sphere of a number of nations in the Middle East. During the Afghan War in 1980’s, some of the terrorist groups migrated from the Middle Eastern nations to Afghanistan.
The most notorious terrorist group which operates from Afghanistan is the Al Qaeda. Within this context, under the leadership of Osama Bin Laden, the most notorious terrorist groups were reorganized under a single authority. For instance, the 9/11 attack proved that Al Qaeda is able to co-ordinate international terrorist plots. The 9/11 can be considered as an example of the unpreparedness by the US politics and military to handle such a sudden attack from the terrorists. The terrorist groups like Al Qaeda consider that the US is most important threat against their aim to conduct Jihad.
