It was taken into reference because of the history that it contained regarding the impact Pepsi and Coca Cola War had on Middle Eastern politics, and how coke emerged victorious in Israel and Pepsi in Arab countries. Even though this book is about the conflict of Middle-East, it is still a good enough reference about Cola Wars. This book was much more about Middle Eastern politics but given the huge popularity and authenticity of “An Idiot’s guide to….” series this book is extremely credible in its application here. Bennett, A. G. (2009). The Big Book of Marketing: Lessons and Practices from the Worlds Greatest Companies. New York City: The McGraw Hill Companies. This book was taken into account because it gave an in-depth detail about the strategies of both Pepsi and Coca-Cola in Cyber war, and how both companies attracted internet users through its marketing approach. Although much is not written about the competition in internet, but at least Pepsi and Coke are competing for marketing slots on the internet. This book is about the internet marketing strategies and rivalry between different well established brands such as Google and Yahoo, HP and Apple etc. The book gives an early history of the initiation of cyber war between Coca Cola and Pepsi; where Coca Cola introduced “Coke Rewards” as result of Pepsi introduction of “Pepsi Stuff”. This book is extremely credible because of its neutral approach to cyber marketing with respect to different rival countries. Solis, B., & Kutcher, A. (2010). Engage!: The Complete Guide for Brands and Businesses to Build, Cultivate, and Measure Success in the Web. New Jersey: John Wiley & Sons Inc. This Book was written by well known author of internet marketing Brian Solis and well known actor Ashton Kutcher. It gave an in-depth detail about internet marketing ventures of Coca-Cola and analyzes its success in that aspect. Although Coke has been beaten mostly by Pepsi mostly even though Pepsi came up with new ideas mostly, Pepsi manages to hold the ground despite its set back in the cyber arena. The books credibility is demonstrated by its authors and their name in the respected field that they represent. Faath, S. (2006). Anti-Americanism in the Islamic world. This book gave an in-depth detail as to why Pepsi and Coca-Cola did campaign in which each other brand was portrayed as a evil brand in Muslim countries and what were there strategies in this regard. This book is mostly about politics and their implications in everyday life of an average Middle Eastern ranging from the President of the country to the person standing on the street. The book is credible because of the already established writer Sigrid Faath and the favorable review the book got at the School of Oriental & African Studies at the Univeristy of London. This book was used as reference as to why Pepsis new drinks which came into market to rival the new beverages that Coca Cola introduced like Mirinda rivaled Fanta, 7-up rivaled Sprite etc. and that also included mineral water, which included more competitors to Pepsi and Coca-Cola rivalry. It is useful because it gives here perspective from a South Asia, but the books credibity can be doubted not to a considerable extent only because it was published from India but the author has won awards for its writing expertise. This book is about the whole history of Pepsi and how it evolved into one of the biggest and well known brand in the world, it also gives a detail analysis of Pepsi and the competition it faced from Coca-Cola. The book is credible because of its perspectives from marketing and business view points. It tells the story of inception of Pepsi and the role of celebrities in popularizing the Pepsi. No suspicion can arise about the credibility of the book since its writer is well known in Britain and is known for his journalistic integrity. Hollenson, S. (2010). This book was referenced to illustrate Cokes sale in Israel and why it dominated in the Jewish state and not in the Arab world. Svend Hollenson is an established name when it comes to information and news, and already known for its research on Global Marketing Research. Here it is mentioned here from the view point as which drink is more popular in Middle-East Coke or Pepsi and what are the reason as to why which is popular in which country i.e Pepsi in Muslim countries and Coca Cola in Israel. Kotler, P. (2005). Principles of Marketing: A South Asian Perspective, 13/E. New Delhi: Pearson Education India. This book was used as a reference regarding the rivalry of Pepsi’s Aquafina and Coca-Cola’s Kinley and Eva. Although it does not go into much detail about the concerned companies, the source is credible because of its writer Philip Kotler who is a well known authority because of his writing in Economics and business and rivalries between different business companies and how it effects the economies as a whole.
