Comparative Essay: Camping in the Deep Woods to Sleeping in a Motel "What humbugs we are, who pretend to live for beauty, and never see the dawn"-Logan Pearsall Smith. This quote is a manifestation of the fact that there is nothing else when it comes to nature. It is a great gift of God and there is no harm to enjoy its beauty once in a while. We all live in a fast paced world where we have made our own bubbles and our own comfort zones and anything out of it starts itching us. In fact we should rather call it a robotic world where everything is so scientific and mechanical that we do not even get time to look out of our windows and appreciate the creations of God; the blue sky, the green grass, the chirping birds and the tall trees engulfing the bright warm light of sun! But Alas all this gets hidden under the shadows of tall sky scrapers and what we are left with is our monotonous boring lives. Now keeping your daily life in mind if given a chance to spend a vacation either camping in forest or a trip around the city with getting yourself a room booked in a perfect motel, what will you choose? Now this is a question of choice rather than comfort. Some might say that there is no point in putting yourself in danger and camping in woods when one has a decent option of living comfortably in a motel while others might say that there is nothing new in getting yourself a room in a hotel why not try something different and adventurous. So it really depends person to person that what choice they make but everything comes with a price and so does each of them. Both the options have their pros and cons, which are discussed in the following paragraphs. Camping in the deep woods might sound very interesting and adventurous but it is not a very practical idea specially if one is with his/her family. First of all you need to have all the required equipment for it and mind it that such equipment is not that cheap so a person who thinks about camping once in his life he may think that there is no point in wasting money in buying such stuff which will not be used that often. Moreover if a person does have the camps and everything then they should be experienced enough to know that how to make it stand so it does not fall off by the gist of wind! Sometimes you do need professional help in such kind of an activity and if you are going on a holiday where you have a tight budget then you cannot afford to hire expertise help. Compared to this, living in a motel can be simple but not necessarily cheap (depending on the standard of the motel) because there all you have to do is get yourself a room and pay for it. When you live in a motel, everything that a person requires from A to Z is provided by the management, it is just like moving into another home where you do not have to carry necessities like food or bedding. The motel service provides a person with food, sanitary, television, internet ,telephone and anything a person asks for, from necessities to luxuries they have everything!.It is a comfortable place where in case of any issue a person can always go up to the management and complain and get that particular thing fixed, all in all you do not have to worry and you can enjoy your vacation peacefully while on the contemporary when it comes to camping then that involves planning. Before going camping in Deep woods a person has to make a list of things that he/she might need. You need to have enough stock of food and water; blankets and sheets; torch and extra batteries for them and most importantly fuel so you can light fire and cook your food. Carrying all this just adds burden on a person. Even if a person wants to spend a single night camping in the woods the first and the foremost thing is to choose a spot for camping. One just cannot go into the woods and unpack his/her camp. Deciding on a safe place is very important. A place which is surrounded by thick trees but also which is near to the main road so that in case of emergency a person can reach to his or her car instantly, moreover when deciding about the place of camping such a spot should be chosen which is free of wild animals! Because no one wants to take a risk with their life, for this purpose a person may need to contact the forest authority and ask them for help and basic information. While spending a night in the motel is the safest thing to do, one just has to pick a hotel(according to their affordability range) which is up to their requirements and needs and pay for its booking. But despite of all this one cannot ignore the sheer pleasure of indulging oneself in the beauty of deep, thick, silent and serene forests; away from all the pollutions and hustle and bustle of city life. When it comes to recreational activities there is nothing better than camping. It is an outdoor activity that involves fun and learning because how often does one get a chance to sleep under the naked starry sky. Camping is its own amusement park. Campers can hike, fish, bird-watch or simply run around and play tag. Such activities in a hotel would be completely unacceptable. One of the biggest advantages of taking your kids camping is that it will inculcate in them a love for nature. You can be assured of raising responsible caring individuals, who will leave the planet in better shape than they received it in. They will also pick up basic survival skills and create lasting memories. One of the best things about camping is that it is a simplified way of life, and is a nutshell experience of the lives of ancestors. moreover The invigorating fresh air and exercise that a camping trip affords you is great for your health, Apart from the hikes and rowing, even everyday tasks like collecting wood provide a great workout. Enjoying an intriguing story told around glowing embers amidst a chorus of crickets has a quality that is hard to simulate but then spending a night at a five star hotel where one is being served and pampered is also a chance worth it. So we cannot conclude that which option outweighs the other as it is a question of preference and varies from person to person.
