The case written by Steven I. Simon and Peter A. Cistaro entitled Transforming Safety Culture exemplifies managing change in organization specifically that of the Public Service Electric and Gas Co. (PSE&G) which is a principal utility located at New Jersey. In addition, the process of change required focusing on culture change as a necessary requirement to achieve an excellent safety management system. So, Kohli (2007) defined safety management system as “a systematic approach to managing safety, including the necessary organizational structures, accountabilities, policies and procedures” (Kohli, 2007, p. 4).
