Running Head: PROPOSAL Proposal of the of the Purpose of this study is to prepare a proposal for Children’s Advocacy Centre at Collin County. As per agency there is a need of funds for the snacks, clothes and different electronics equipments for the abusive children therapy and treatment. For this purpose the proposal will be sent to different agencies that provides funds for different noble causes. Proposal Introduction Community health services protects individuals, families, communities, and populations. The purpose of this research study is to discuss the problems faced by Children’s Advocacy Centre at Collin County. The Children’s Advocacy Center of Collin County started in 1992 and has since handed out more than thirty three thousand children. In last 18 years their range of services has raised noticeably. Initially this agency was served only 10% of abused child victims in Collin County, and now they are offering services to 100% of the children recognized as victims of abuse. The mission of the Childrens Advocacy Center of Collin County is to provide safety, healing and justice to children victimized by abuse or neglect. (http://www.caccollincounty.org/History.htm) Child Abusing The primary objective of development of a child is to make them enable in the early years of their lives to get genuinely involved and self-directive in their learning process. This needs firstly a constructive image as person, as there is a circular process of interface between a child’s learning and his personality development. Every childs development is judged by their intellectual function, their inventiveness, their ego strength, their relatedness to their peers and adults, and capacity to deal with new events that come across their like each day in their social life. Most mothers aspire to provide a nurturing environment for their children. Depressed mothers generally want the best for their children, but their illness prevents them from achieving this goal. Depressed mothers have a much different opinion of themselves as mothers and of their childrens behaviour. They may see themselves as inadequate and think that they have little control over their childs development and they may see many aspects of their childs normal behaviour in a negative light. (Gurian, 2003) When a family is confronted with maternal depression, the role of the father becomes more important to the childs development. The child will develop lower intellectual and emotional competence if the father also suffers from depression. However, if the father is not depressed, he could acquire on the caring role that the mother cannot execute. This could potentially permit for an additional healthy development of the infant. A stronger father-child connection will be developed as an effect of maternal depression. Many report feeling overwhelmed at the responsibilities of raising a child. Under so much stress, depressed mothers will face the normal frustrations of raising children much differently than normal mothers would. In many cases, the mother may criticize the child to the point of insulting him. Verbal abuse has been linked to lack of self esteem in children, especially when done at a young age. Some depressed mother will go even further and react violently to her childs petty trespasses. (Gurian, 2003) In addition to the positive social and environmental development and unintentional outcomes. Mardell (2002) also reports that the childs experiences, the quality of care and the development of self-concept are all related. For example, a child who experiences secure attachments with carer’s have a high self-esteem and as a result are happy and confident and therefore constructs an image of themselves of worthy of love. However, those children whose carer’s fail to offer that secure attachment construct a low self-esteem and create an idea of themselves as unworthy of love, which is often hidden behind guarded behaviour and minimal interactions with others lessening the opportunities to develop and maintain relationships with peers and finally, those children whose carer’s offer an unpredictable attachment construct an image of themselves as incompetent again lowering their self-esteem, resulting in the same outcomes as above. Parent disciplines a child is a big part of parenting. When people are asked if a child should be punished physically there is mixed views on the subject. This view varies on a lot of different circumstances with individual people. Culture and experience hold the majority of weight in the way people view this subject. More than 90 percent of todays American adults were spanked when they were young and most consider themselves none the worse for it. Actually the majority of parents not just in Northern America but all over Asia as well, South America and Africa, think that spanking is allowed, justifiable and essential at occasions. On the other side of the field are the specialists who speculate if spanking has a boomerang consequence and, if kids who are punished physically be trained to be more violent. To that the reply is in all probability yes. Domestic violence of any type, from spanking a child to letting siblings fight it out to exposing children to mutual insults or hitting between the parents, makes children likely to be aggressive with peers and, later on, with their own families. Racism is the discrimination of a person based on race (Stern- Larosa, 2000). Therefore, parents, teachers, and role models can teach children that being different means being less-than. This causes resentment that is focused toward the oppressor and unfortunately is passed on from generation to generation for example, in a report, it was stated that teachers often misinterpreted black childrens enthusiastic and energetic behavior as aggression. Sections of the media have been accused of fanning the flames of this type of discrimination by using racist language and making sweeping generalizations with regards to certain religions and cultures. Another cause of racism would be the society’s history. Racism affects a child’s performance, diminishes his capabilities and keeps him away from getting a high position is society. As a form of discrimination an additional cause of racism would be having a fear and being ignorant about other cultures. Where Blacks are concerned this is called Black phobia. In the current global climate this has become very common in particular, within western culture and society and children of Black families are really suffering. This has created a feeling of superiority amongst certain individuals and groups in the Western countries. A feeling that by being white and having a Christian faith is the only really acceptable way to be. About CAC The Center’s Counseling Services proposed particular therapy to offspring and non-offending family persons who have incidented distress as the result of mistreatment. Childrens Advocacy Center is nationally renowned Therapy Service Department builds an atmosphere where children and non-offending family persons can initiate to heal from the ordeal of abuse. Bi-lingual therapy practices are presented in CAC state-of-the-art therapy center with 10 developmentally specific therapy place to stay. All services are presented at no cost and are considered to meet the exceptional needs of each patron. At present children are able to visit a this agency full of childhood consoles designed purposely for them. Instead of unfolding their abuse to numerous adults, they speak with a qualified forensic interviewer in a contented environment and the conference is videotaped to reduce the number of period they must feature their trauma. The video recording also enhances the correctness of information presented to professionals examining the case. The Children’s Advocacy Centre is not only beneficial for the child, but also for the whole community. This agency strongly believe that an interference and involvement is the best preclusion to child abuse. Needs of CAC The Children’s Advocacy Centre needs funds to provide more snacks,and cloths, and for lot of electronic things that are not working,like computers, video games etc Goals and Objectives As CAC is working for a noble cause so in order to provide a complete comfort fot the children and the community they want to raise the funds. Program Design It has been decicided that the fund will be raised from different agencies like; Governmenrt, Churches, Large Family Foundations, Small Family Foundations, Major Corporate Funding, Small Corporate Funding. It has been decided that the past data of CAC budget will be shared with the interested donors, and it will share with them that how it becomes impossible to manage the agency in well manner in less budget. Limitations There might be few limitations when we will find the resources for the funds, firstly as CAC is in Collin County to most of the request for the funds will be sent to the resource full organizations of that county or near by. Ethical Considerations While doing this fund raising process there will be some ethical considerations. The donor agency can visit CAC before and after giving their donations with prior permission with CAC management. Any feed back will be taken as a positive and the CAC will try to justify any query if possible. Outcome Evaluation The outcome evaluation will be analysed by the change in system, and comparision of facilities present with the past problems.
