I have read a lot of historic novels which, like many other factors, have opened before me the exhilarating episodes of history. History is where I find the answer to anything I might wonder about and I offer a different take on history. I think history is fascinating and one can learn about the reason why one thinks, acts and even speaks as one goes through the various episodes of history.I think some of my previous experiences related to social activities will be an added advantage in my attempts for obtaining graduation in history.

Besides, I have a non-commissioned officer diploma from a one year school in the Norwegian navy and been a boot-camp sergeant for six months. My experience as a leader of a social club for youth and the two leadership classes I handled, has also impelled me to pursue my studies with history. The leadership and team-working experiences I acquired while participating in the school play for two years in upper secondary school, and later producing it in the third year have filled in me confidence enough to conduct such programs in future.

I have obtained traits such as perseverance, curiosity, earnestness, and a good work ethic. I am highly motivated, focused, and dedicated to being a promising student of history. My fascination towards history has also prompted me to subscribe to a monthly History magazine, though I am from a small country like Norway. As Scott Reed has rightly observed “choosing a goal and sticking to it” is capable of changing everything and I believe that my admission to the history department is the first step towards achieving my goal.

I would like to join this University because I believe that the high teaching standards of this University will enable me to fulfill my greatest desire to become a professor and teach history. I hope that I can bring into play my passion and interest in History, work hard towards achieving my goals, and I can use the degree to teach others. Above all, I love to teach, to undertake researches, and to impart knowledge to the new generation which I believe is my mission.
