Aujourd’hui, je suis sûr que les produits procurés dans le supermarché sont de bonne qualité, puisqu’ils sont bien réglementés et bien géré. Le stock contient une gamme variée de produits, même des apparats électriques, qui sont moins cher que les autres produits dans les petits magasins. Je pense qu’il vaut mieux acheter des produits qui sont situés sous le même toit ou je suis plus attentif à ce que j’achète. Faire des courses est, donc, une expérience rafraîchissante et facile.
Mais quand j’étais enfant, jhabitais dans une petite ville en Irlande dans les années quatre vingt, ou il ny avait pas de grandes chaînes de supermarchés. Ma famille et moi faisaient les achats le samedi matin dans un marché ou nous achetions nos fruits et nos légumes; il prenait au moins quatre heures pour finir les courses. On trouvait du pain à la boulangerie et de la viande à la boucherie, ou les produits étaient toujours frais et personne n’était méfiant de leur bonne qualité. En plus, ma mère parlait avec les autres clients, donc on sentait une forte sensation dappartenir à la communauté et les petites entreprises et commerçants étaient une partie de notre culture et notre identité. J’ai alors pris cette tradition avec moi et aujourd’hui, je vais aussi aux petits commerçants pour certains ingrédients, comme pain, lait, fromage ou chocolat parce que ma famille en mange beaucoup.
Maintenant, les petites entreprises ont disparu et ont été remplacées par les grandes chaînes de supermarchés. Toutefois, je ne suis pas triste; au contraire, jaime la convenance moderne. Je crois que les communautés ont besoin dun centre commercial proche pour acheter les choses nécessaires sans grand effort.
