Your full full July 04, Aim of the Assignment The aim of this assignment is to research intervention and treatment facilities in a specific area. The area, which we will be taking into consideration, is Atlanta, an American state. The facilities, which will be discussed, include local DCFS and non-profit organizations.Non-Profit Organizations Before going into the details of a non-profit organization, let us get to know what a non-profit organization actually is. LaMance, in an article, defines non-profit organization as “an organization that does not distribute surplus income to shareholders but rather uses its funds to pursue a specific public purpose”.

In Atlanta, there exists a non-profit organization called Blue Star Charity. This is a local organization and is run by Mrs. Elizabeth Gilbert. The basic mission of this charity organization is to give financial assistance to the poor people who do not have enough resources to fulfill the basic necessities of life. Mrs. Gilbert is a devoted woman and loves to bring smiles to faces of poor people and underprivileged children. The services provided by Blue Star Charity include giving financial assistance to the needy people, fulfilling the desires of children by providing them with toys and clothes, arranging discount cards for the poor families and their children so that they can easily buy the basic necessities, and giving gifts to the disable children in order to entertain them.

The funding resources for Blue Star Charity include well-off people which include doctors, engineers, and even politicians belonging to Atlanta. There is no government funding available to the organization.Suggestions If we talk from the theoretical perspective, we can say that all people, giving donations to the charity organizations, have a common mission of helping the unprivileged people. The administration of the organization should incorporate more services and facilities in the list of existing services.

The suggested services include providing school fees to the poor people so that they can educate their children, arranging entertainment shows for the poor people, providing higher education scholarships to the deserving unprivileged students so that they can complete their education and become able to financially assist their families. Also, the management should ask the government to grant funds for the organization.DCFS department The Atlanta department of human services provides various facilities to the public living in the region.

One of those facilities is division of children and family services. The basic mission of DCFS is to ensure the safety of children. It not only provides community-based services to the people but also assist the families in taking care of their children in an appropriate manner. The services provided to the children by the DCFS include arranging a family foster home for the children, making it possible for the children to have frequent contacts with their families, educating the children regarding important decisions, and providing opportunities to the children regarding religious experiences.

The services provided to the families include arranging family gatherings, educating families the importance of foster homes for children, and helping the parents make their children return back to home. The funding resources for the department include grants from the local public and yearly grants from a public serving NGO.Suggestions From the theoretical perspective, support and care from parents to their children play a very important role in their upbringing. DCFS should incorporate such plans which should be able to create awareness among the parents regarding their children’s needs and desires.

Atlanta’s DCFS should take steps to encourage the families to provide important information about their children’s schooling and their characteristics to the DCFS. Also the parents should be encouraged to actively participate in the process of court hearings. In the end, I would suggest that DCFS should take appropriate steps to promote effective communication between the families and their children.Works CitedLaMance, Ken “Business Law - Non-Profit Organizations and Tax Exemption.” Business Law - Non-Profit Organizations and Tax Exemption. 20 Apr. 2010 EzineArticles.com. 04 Jul. 2010 .
