I would wish to analyse her life and the good things it has offered as well as the challenges faced. Through this I believe I shall have a good reflection of what I want in life, how to achieve it and the various challenges I may go through and how I may overcome them. On general terms I wish to learn from her successes and failures so as to be a better person to myself, my relatives and friends and the whole community at large. She has been my inspiration and a role model and it is high time that I ask her concrete questions about her life and how she has lived it and the prospects that she has in the psychological viewpoint.

She is 65 years of age and a single mother of five. India has been her mother land for the whole of her life and this therefore makes her case unique to the Indian context in general terms. She has been a farmer most of her life and this has formed the only source of livelihood for herself and her family for many years. She was born and raised in the Indo-Gangetic Plain which is one of the regions termed as India’s bread basket. This is the main reason why she turned out to be a farmer herself as from her childhood she spent a great deal of time in the fields.

Her school years were rather short as she had many farm responsibilities to handle. From the interview the case that has grieved her the most is the loss of her children and a number of grandchildren whom she loved a great deal. While narrating this she actually dropped tears and this made me take a little bit of time to console her. She responded by asking a rhetoric question that why is life this unfair at times. To an elderly person, losing ones children makes them feel empty and that a part of them has gone with the deceased (Zastrow & Kirst-Ashman, 2009).

After this she acknowledged that death is an eventuality that all of us should embrace. She now lives alone in with the house facing many acres of farm land. This has made her feel so lonely
