The process of business incubation is a dynamic one for the purpose of developing business enterprises, and to make them financially viable for when they have to leave, usually within two or three years. Incubators nurture new firms by helping them to survive and develop during their start-up period because it is during this time that they are most vulnerable and can therefore take advantage of assistance given to them. This could be in the form of managerial, administrative, financial or legal assistance for example, and in the case of technology based incubators in particular, in the form of technological assistance.
