Management must strive for efficiency & effectiveness throughout organization. Discuss. In the world of management, it is a given that the related ranks must showcase efficiency and effectiveness within their folds so that success could be achieved in due course of time. Moreover it is the responsibility of the management authorities to understand which models and methodologies are best suited to look after the needs and requirements of the people who matter the most within the reigns of a business and what could be done differently in order to address the concerns that a business organization might have in the future. This paper will explore the intrinsic management attributes that are linked with efficiency and effectiveness that is rampant in any organization in the time and age of today. The same are discussed in line with the strategic and operational theories and concepts that have been studied thus far. Strategic basis of the management regimes indicate that an organization is more than willing to think long term, and hence devise ways and means through which success would be envisioned for the sake of the business concern. The operational theories and concepts are also important to discern and later on comprehend because embody the basis of success for an organization in the long run. The manner in which the external environment plays a definitive role as well as the building up of the strategic. Similarly managing the marketing mix is pivotal towards resolving the management related problems on a proactive basis. The same is necessary because it helps solve quite a few issues which basically mar the basis of an organization in the long run (Sims 2002). Efficiency and effectiveness within an organization is achieved through hard work and consistency that is related with the different processes, activities and tasks. The strategy development process could either be an intended one within an organization or it could comprise of an emergent form. Both have challenges and implications which are related with the strategic drift, the learning organizational basis, the uncertain and complex conditions and the overall management of the strategy development processes. The strategic management is therefore a combination of the external environment and the strategic capability that holds the strategic choices like business level strategies, the corporate and international level strategies and the development directions and methodologies (Ruhli 1993). The external environment similarly is related with the building up of the strategic capabilities. This means that the internal level analysis holds together the strengths and weaknesses while the external level analysis has an understanding of the opportunities and threats. This is known as the SWOT analysis. On the same token, an organization requires the PESTEL analysis for attaining effectiveness and efficiency within its domains. The PESTEL analysis is the political, economic, social, technological, environmental and socio-cultural factors that essentially play an important role within any organization. There is also an important study of the Porter’s five forces which must be understood properly before one decides whether or not an organization is effective yet efficient – all at the same time. The five forces are summarized as the potential entrants within the related market bases, the buyers and the suppliers’ attitudes with regards to negotiations, the competitive rivalry that crops up every now and the substitutes that are entering into these very folds. It is a given that the management must strive for excellence within its different processes, activities and tasks so that these units are meshed along well with one another. If there is harmony existent within the varied departments of an organization, there is all the more reason that success would eventually creep in with a positive influence for the sake of the business concerns and the employees would feel privileged with the outcomes which are achieved over a period of time (Liao 2007). Similarly, building strategic capabilities is a fundamental importance within any organization, where the emphasis is on outlining the salient points as listed above. The core competencies within an organization’s activities are achieved over a period of time and these require the due role of the economies of scale, the supply costs, the process design regimes and lastly the experience which has been attained with regards to the strategic capability which has long focused on the improvement of cost efficiency so that value could be maintained and competitiveness within price could be established in due course of time. It must be understood properly that an effective marketing basis and the similar basis requires that a supportive company infrastructure is in place. The right marketing mix is a combination of the products which are rightly priced, the promotion mix and the correct people for which it is being targeted. The effective target marketing is comprised of who, what, where, when and how basis of understanding the related dictum. Along the same lines, the role of the value chain within an organization holds immense significance because it dictates the exact ways and means through which the resources are shaped up and the activities are aligned in a proper manner (Drejer 2002). The value chain plays a role that is very closely tied in with the supply chain mechanisms and which comprises of some of the most important deliverables within the work domains of an organization. In the end, it would be appropriate to suggest here that any management regime would dearly require that its processes, activities and tasks are in complete mesh with one another. There must be no point of detachment with the notion that has been explained within the lengths and breadths of the paper (Cooper 2005). In essence, the management must always try its utmost to be effective yet efficient all at the same time. If this is achieved in due course of time, much success can be envisaged for the sake of the organization in the times to come. All said and done, strategic management needs to be analyzed, understood and further shaped up in a proper method so that success can be derived over a period of time. This only would embody the basis of success within the related domains in the long term scheme of things. References Cooper, C. (2005).
