This bacterium has an important property which has labeled it as a slowly dividing bacterium that is it takes 14 days for the growth to become two fold. This also accounts for the need for prolonged treatment of this bacterium.
This disease presents with a very interesting past and it is believed that this condition existed in 1550 B.C. because it has been mentioned by the Egyptians in their Papyrus Document. Works from the subcontinent dating to 600 B.C. also report of a pathology which very much looks like Hansen disease.
It has also been reported that this disease was considered to be inherited. People who acquired this condition were believed to have been penalized by their God for doing something wrong. Hence these people were disliked and everybody stayed away from them and the poor sufferers were considered to be such a disgrace that they were supposed to wear clothes that differentiated them from the others and they were not allowed to intermingle with the other people.
The disease state which is led to by mycobacterium leprae is known as leprosy and this is divided into two forms that are known as tuberculous leprosy or lepromatous leprosy. Both of these clinical conditions present with different symptoms.
Lepromatous leprosy is associated with many disruptions on skin which have are same in size. These lesions lose their pigmentation are marked by erythema and also present with nodules. These types of skin disruptions join together and present with an appearance that is referred to as leonine facies.
Histopathological findings of this leprosy show the presence of a specific kind of cells that are known as lepra cells which are basically macrophages that present with the appearance of foam. These cells are mainly found in the dermis and are demarcated from the epidermal layer of the skin.
The infection can be

Bassi and Pasteur both worked on silkworm diseases. Bassi in the year 1835, established that a microscopic organism, a fungus, caused disease in the silk worm. Around 30 years later, in the year 1865, Pasteur established that another microbe, a protozoan, cause infection in silkworms.
In oxidative phosphorylation, ATP is produced by energy released by the oxidation of nutrients (Boyer, 1977). In photophosphorylation, light energy is used to create a high-energy electron donor and a lower-energy electron acceptor. In oxidative phosphorylation, electrons are transferred from electron donors to electron acceptors such as oxygen, in various redox reactions which are carried out by a series of protein complexes within mitochondria among eukaryotes and in the cells' inner membranes among prokaryotes (Boyer, 1977).
Moreover, benefits of non-pathogenic microorganisms in human environment are discussed further on. Variola virus and Staphylococcus epidermis: comparing and contrasting Variola virus infects human beings. It can be transmitted to other humans via face-to-face contact or contact with other objects, or through the air.
Bacteria were discovered by Anton Von Leeuwenhoek in 1676, which he called animalcules. Louis Pasteur in 1859 discovered that fermentation is an effect of microbial activity. Robert Koch postulated the ‘Germ Theory’ and went on to win the Nobel Prize in 1905.
leprae) and Mycobacterium tuberculosis (M. tuberculosis) are the major pathogens that belong to the genus, Mycobacterium. M. tuberculosis, first discovered by Robert Koch in 1882, is one of the devastating pathogens and causes human diseases that are the source of both death and prolonged disability.
Enzyme known as superoxide dismutase, eliminates superoxide radicals by enhancing the rate of reaction. During the process toxic substance hydrogen peroxide (H2O2) and hydroxyl radical (OH-) are produced, which in turn is dissipated by catalase and peroxide enzymes respectively.
In the present study, the unknown microorganism present in the Probiotics, maozrella cheese and camembert cheese were analyzed using the biochemical tests such as catalase, oxidase, latex agglutination, Gram’s staining and string test. From the biochemical results it was identified that the unknown microorganisms present in the given samples of probiotics, mozeralla cheese and camembert cheese were Lactobacillus sp, Streptococcus sp and Penicillium sp.
Of the foods, poultry was identified as the major source for pathogenic micro organisms mainly concentrated on the raw chicken that are mainly concentrated with Escherichia Coli, Campylobacter, Salmonella and Staphylococcus. The raw chicken wash waters are found
ular belief, leprosy does not cause body parts to detach themselves from the body; however, the infection can cause the limbs to become numb or diseased, giving the sensation of having fallen off.
Leprosy dates back over four thousand years, with the earliest recording dating
