Extract of sample "Business Plan for Northern Nosh"

The comprise the most active and adventurous individuals who are most likely to be willing to sample new foodstuffs at the festivals. Besides, the youth, the business also targets those who are health conscious by using only fresh foods in making their meals.

Over the years the world over has had to deal with many health issues as a result of the diets the majority of people choose. The fast foods that the bulwark of the UK population consumes have become their health detriment. Diseases like cancer, hypertension, and diabetes have merged with weighty issues like obesity and cardiac arrests among others to terrorize people all over the world, including the UK. There is a call for people to turn to organic products and eat healthier foods to avoid these health risks (Organic food directory, 2008).  The Northern Nosh had this in mind and that is the reason behind the healthy food production bit in the mission statement. The majority of the food vendors in the festivals do not consider the health of their clientele and as such sell fast foods but as a business we intend to incorporate this in our products and services. Northern Nosh is determined to do this by acquiring only fresh food from the Northern parts of the UK and other fresh food suppliers. Considering that there is a lot of pressure for people to eat more fresh foods and organic ones for that matter instead of genetically modified foods, Northern Nosh potentially enhances the aspect of healthy living. This healthy food aspect also indirectly reduces the number of competitors for the Northern Nosh business as the majority of the food vendors sell fast foods which are not so healthy. We are of the view that young people will be attracted to fresh and healthier meals once they know it is organic and without so many rivals the Northern Nosh is likely to succeed.

Apart from the healthy foods being sold, the business also plans to sell its products at reasonable enough prices for its clients to afford. With the surge of campaigns for organic foods against genetically modified ones, the business looks forward to making profits. Packaging and complying with eco-friendly material is also another attractive service that the business intends to dispense to health and environmentally conscious customers.

The proposed plan is for the Northern Nosh to hire outlets and sell their nutritious foods in at least ten festivals in the UK consistently and further increase this number by two festivals annually. This will be made easier by the increase in the number of festivals held in the UK. Participation will definitely lead to a higher number of customers and the subsequent success of the business. This is also the only way that the business will gain the prominence and fame it intends to achieve.

The team also intends to carry out both verbal interviews and distributed questionnaires to capture the opinions of the festival goers and get their preferences where food is concerned. There is also a plan to give samples in small festivals so as to attract more customers and market their foods. These strategies are aimed at finding out what the clientele really wants when they visit a food outlet at a festival.

This business will definitely create more awareness among the clientele in terms of healthy eating. The fact that it offers freshly cooked foods derived from organic products shows its advocacy for healthy living. The food will be able to create a strong brand image for the business by delivering a rare delicacy for its customers that does not compromise their state of health. Organic food is more nutritious than other foods and this will confirm the authenticity of the business name “Northern Nosh” meaning nourishment from the North. It will offer its clients nutrients at a cheap price.

According to the Organic food directory (2008), the campaign for healthy living has alleviated the problem of the unavailability of organic foods. This is because more people are opting to reduce the intake of fast foods which are considered risky and unhealthy and increase the intake of organic foods. This business will provide these products for healthy festival goers at a non-exploitative price considering the fact that the research questionnaires and interviews also aim at finding out the price the customers would pay for the nutritious foods.

This business aims at making a profit by selling nutritious foods at festivals. This will be done at pocket-friendly prices and there are incentives aimed at luring as many customers as possible. Another aspect of the business is that it aims at promoting healthy eating during festivals and this way it will reach as many people as possible. The team intends to expand the number of festivals it participates in.

In conclusion, this business will be of benefit to festival goers who are conscious of their health, environment, and feeding habits. It looks towards expansion in terms of the number of festivals it will participate in and the clientele it will attend to. This is reasonable considering the mentorship that the business team looks up to which has expanded over its thirty years of existence. Given its plans to follow all governmental laws and operate in an eco-friendly manner, this business is bound to achieve its mission statement.
