Here I will present a detailed overview of the new technology based educational environment. At the present, there are extensive developments in the areas of the wireless technology sector. This literature review is aimed at providing a new paradigm in the educational sector for the distance learning. The advancement in the wireless technology presently emerged to extensive limits. High bandwidth and modern features of the wireless technology are available in the field of education. Contemporary advancements are continued in wireless technology devices such as cell phones, personal digital assistants (PDA), wirelessly networked handheld computers, wireless laptop technology, wireless sensor network employed in distance learning and education. Wireless technology The development of the wireless technology has broad impact on all the areas of information technology. Our way of living, communication, social prospect, and different aspects of collaborative environment are totally transformed into new enhanced operational areas. Now we are more informed and tightly linked to people and global event. These radical transformations also affect the educational sector. The trend of the distance learning and wireless technology incorporation in this sector has offered learners huge advantages. Now they have access to more up-to-date knowledge and information as compared to the past (Shelly, Cashman, & Vermaat, 2005). Advancement in education sector The educational sector has extensively influenced by the new technology transformation. There are huge opportunities regarding new educational system which are generated due to the radical transformations in internet and wireless technology. According to (Mamoukaris & Economides, 2003), the wireless networks technology will play a significant role in educational sector. The communications structures of wireless networks frequently are paying attention on new wireless ad-hoc networks technology. They will offer liberty from place restrictions, dynamic interaction, flexibility, adaptive architecture and scalable multicast services (Mamoukaris & Economides, 2003). The research of (Mamoukaris & Economides, 2003) has outlined that one of main and more attractive services of the wireless network is group communication. Modern educational models as well as wireless structures have been intended to develop mutual training. The new technology of the wireless network is the ad-hoc wireless networks those are multi-hop wireless networks which are able to offer a distant and dynamic educational environment. Though, the lack of fixed wireless structure in ad-hoc wireless networks produces novel research difficulty (Mamoukaris & Economides, 2003). Educational Models and Wireless Classroom Architectures (Mamoukaris & Economides, 2003), suggested main models and architecture of the wireless networks for educational sector. Wireless networks are able to offer network access in each classroom by means of no or nominal renovation costs. The idea of new wireless network based environment involves simply the installation of the network access points that can be positioned well all through the structure (area, building, university, school, and house) as well as can frequently be installed without disturbance of the regular classroom timetable. Additionally, it is an important factor since without some adjustment action (or noticeable wiring) to the obtainable physical arrangement/classroom we would be able to offer wireless network link (Mamoukaris & Economides, 2003). The structural design of an educational environment by means of wireless technology is foundational to its present structure of the cabling backbone network as well as can be improved in the future through restoring computers lab by means of wireless devices. The substitution of the obtainable PCs by notebooks will enhance the efficiency and usability of the classrooms through employing the so far customary labs. The wireless network access points will be the medium to ease the communication among mobile PC/computer based Labs through both local servers and Internet. Therefore, the education will be sustained as well as improved even when the school is closed through proper software that will be implemented to offer helpful facilities or other courses (Mamoukaris & Economides, 2003). Distance Education through wireless networks The research of (Islam & Doyle, 2008) has presented that the wireless networks are planning a vital role in the distant learning. The research of (Islam & Doyle, 2008) has outlined the usefulness of utilization of the wireless network technology for the third world nations such as Bangladesh where the rural areas have less facilities and resources for the effective establishment of the effective educational system. In such situation the cell phones are used in distance education in rural Bangladesh through the short message service. In this infrastructure the wireless networks working as a backbone technology and offering less costly mobile services for the people of Bangladesh. According to (Islam & Doyle, 2008), the most important effect of wireless technology in education is interactivity, “widely defined as action on the part of the receiver that causes a change in the messages returned by the sender” (Islam & Doyle, 2008). Personal Digital Assistants (PDAs) based educational environment (Pinkwart, Hoppe, Milrad, & Perez, 2003), presented a new idea of the PDAs based wireless network platform for collaborative modeling. This is akin to the view that mobile devices serves as a “platform for collaborative modeling”. The research of (Pinkwart, Hoppe, Milrad, & Perez, 2003) has outlined the experience in orchestrating joint learning set-ups by means of ubiquitous computing technology. This idea has presented the three steps based approaches for expanding co-constructive modeling as well as discussion settings by means of PDAs or Personal Digital Assistants linking in the course of a wireless network. In this innovative structure the one application is an explanation tool, the next one replicates a modeling scheme on the Personal Digital Assistant and the 3rd one makes utilization of a wireless optical-reader in adding up to the Personal Digital Assistant. This whole structure offers ‘lightweight’ synchronization means in Personal Computer based settings (Pinkwart, Hoppe, Milrad, & Perez, 2003). WSN for scientific research The research of the (Evans, Janek, Gum, & Hunter, 2008) has presented the idea of the incorporation of the wireless sensor networks of WSNs for biological research areas. The deployment of the wireless sensor networks for the scientific research will offer the great advantage for the real time mentoring of the environmental factors like that soil, reactions, chemical and biological transforms. This collaborative and interactive environment can be made possible by a device called the wireless sensor network technology which forms a sensor node that enables people to “communicate with each other to collect and move data toward a central entity for further processing” (Evans, Janek, Gum, & Hunter, 2008). The implementation of this wireless network technology for the educational sector and educational scenario has offered extensive advantages and effective results of the employment consequently far have been favorable. This structure wireless sensor network technology has offered great advantages for the better field based research and scientific outcomes (Evans, Janek, Gum, & Hunter, 2008). New Education technique through wireless network technology The research of (Barnes, 2008) has devised a new educational strategy through the wireless network technology. This involves the lectures free teaching environment with user active response. In this technology (Barnes, 2008) has devised an audience response based system which “includes one hand-held remote per student, a receiver (infrared or radio frequency, depending on the system), a computer for recording student responses, and a means for projecting information lo the class”. This system is operational at Thomas Lords college (Barnes, 2008). Thomas Lords college educational technique has altered the educational style of the compulsory high school biology. The students of Thomas Lords college have taken pleasure in a number of successes through moving away from a teacher centered classroom to an additional enhanced and constructivist educational and learning atmosphere. In this wireless network based educational structure the start of each class, the teams of 3 sophomores attempt to resolve a biological questions regarding which they have extremely small background. In this structure response to each student is shared to other and further real answers are issued for the additional clarifications (Barnes, 2008). Wireless ad-hoc networks for teachers The research of (Cortez, et al., 2005) has presented a new idea by presenting a new educational structure for the teachers’ through the deployment of the wireless network technology. Extensive handwork has done for the enhancement of the educational process that spotlights on those mainly accountable for applying it: the teachers. The new ideas of (Cortez, et al., 2005) offer the teachers to link through the face-to-face computer supported joint learning structure that employs wirelessly networked hand-held PCs to produce an atmosphere intended for serving students incorporate as well as transfer learning content. In this system implementation we use the system through students, renovating classroom dynamics as well as allowing cooperation and interaction among the students and the teacher. This proposed system is also employed to aid teachers update their information of subject content as well as replace procedural strategies (Cortez, et al., 2005) or as a technology to augment “Problem-Based Learning in Special Education” (Blackboum, Fillingim, McCelland, & G. Franklin Elrod). Conclusion In this research I have presented a detailed analysis of the “Application of Wireless Technology in the Educational System”. This literature review has outlined the new technology based educational environment. Here I have tried to outline the contemporary areas of the wireless technology implementation in educational sector. This research has presented the detailed analysis of the new educational policies transformations, enhancements, and fresh teaching techniques emerged through the Application of Wireless Technology in the Educational System.
