The theories of motivation are built around the certain assumption made on the patterns of interaction of people. The intrinsic motivation of the individuals has strong influence on the extrinsic rewards and perception of the other individuals about them. The field experiments conducted by different researchers have shown the evidence that the extrinsic rewards could negatively harm the intrinsic motivation of the employees (Deci and Ryan, 1985). The studies were conducted on a set of professionals who were clearly mentioned of the nature of reward that has been instituted for a brief period. The results obtained after withdrawing the rewards showed a sharp reduction in the productivity in those rewarded from those who were not rewarded. Thus the managers, who often feel that the higher the incentives could always ensure higher performance often, fail to realize the negative impact it could cause to the system when such schemes are forced to be withdrawn. This is common with the prevailing business situations across the globe, where poor business environment forces the managers to propose the cost reduction measures. One such step would be lowering of the existing incentive schemes which would lead to lowering of the productivity that were available much before this reductive proposals as per the existing theories of motivation. Every organization in its management practice has powers which are both visible and invisible. The powers that are present based on the hierarchy of practice which defines the functional space and the linkages in the responsibilities in the organizational framework are the common visible powers centers in any establishment. The invisible power centers that those which are not guided by the direct business objectives but rather from the cultural or ethical compulsions that forces every employees to take a certain decision making in their domain of activity. And the exact proportion of the division of each type of powers in each organization cannot be specified in exact quantitative terms. The visible powers are more necessary for the quantitative outputs of the job and identifying the work efficiency of every employee. This would be key driving force to maintain the organizational competence in the business operations. While the invisible powers are more related to the process quality and ethical practices that every employee is expected to adhere to create a very pleasant and open working atmosphere. In a nut shell, it could be said that the visible powers are necessary for facing the external competition while invisible powers are vital for creating acceptable work culture mostly internal to the organization. A strong proposal from the part of management is a vital component in convincing the investors regarding the viability of the programme. Further, the government administration in the field of environmental management is another major participant considering the impact of the project on the community. The less use of energy, reduced impact of pollution arising from poor disposal of chemicals and hazardous materials, less release of harmful gas, are the important aspects that would be very beneficial to the community as a whole from turning the health care operations more sustainable. The facility mangers of various health care developers are another set of stakeholder in this domain. Spreading the message of sustainability and the long-term impact of ignorant approaches need to be communicated to them appropriately. Promotion of water recharge systems, use of less water consuming devices, maximizing the use of passive ventilation systems and proposing building materials that are less harmful are a few initiatives that are possible through them. The waste management companies are the players who need to be attended properly. As change in available technology option need to be presented by these companies, which would require an extensive cost benefit analysis with respect to shift in current technology promotion exercises need to be carried out. Also, the land scope designers and architects who are very essential for incorporating the natural systems in the building designs are very important group to be considered. Also the team of doctors and other paramedical shall also be involved, as they are the people who finally propagate the message of green practices in the diagnosis and treatment. Finally a selected set of citizen representatives shall also be given to highlight the social responsibility for this initiative. I would be eagerly looking forward to make the health care operation more environmentally safe. Being a resident near to the one of the largest heath care center in the state, impact it causes to the air, water and soil has been a major issue facing all of us. The poorly operated incinerated is suspected to be the reason behind the higher rate of bronchial diseases in the locality during the recent years. So also, the soil pollution resulting from the improperly managed landfill site is also a problem, which demands urgent attention. Though the direct linkages with the pollution from the above sources to the deteriorating health in the region have not been established, I strongly feel that enforcement of green practices would certainly improve the existing living conditions. This is essential to ensure along term environmental management of the place as much more development is expected to happen soon in future years. Thus as a citizen representative I would be trying very hard to form a strong movement to arrest all initiatives that threaten our living environment.
